An update: I haven't been very active on the Bay 12 Games Forum lately because of the issue with the forums not supporting HTTPS. I don't know if it's always been that way, but ever since I noticed it I've been largely steering clear. I'm just not a big fan of logging into a website over an unencrypted connection in this day and age. I think it's just that the forum technology is really old and there's some incompatibility there.
I'm still pretty active on the Discord. Currently work in progress on a larger update, though I need to get back to that, as I've been away from it for a bit. I do unrelated programming in my day job, and my appetite for using my free time to do the same sort of thing I do for work waxes and wanes over time.
Can't you repair armor anymore? (Might be misremembering, don't think you could repair anything.)
I believe it's set up so that laundry and clothing/armor repairs are idle activities. You can set them to lay low to have them work on this; they'll prioritize their currently equipped stuff then work on stockpiles at the safehouse after that.
Just out of confusion, don't know if this is a bug, or if it's new if it is:
Had a Sleeper get arrested for Embezzlement just now, and they were found Not Guilty.
Now, they're in my Active Liberals, and I can press A to give them commands, but I can't put them in any squads? This happened once before, to similar effect. I even tried Promoting this Sleeper and they're not there.
Should I just Release them, or am I missing something?
Hmm. This does sound like a bug to me due to them not showing up in the promotion screen.
Is it possible to add a compiled and zipped offline version to the github main page? The insight tab only persists for two weeks or so I think, so the main page would be a good spot for a download link for version releases if that's something that can be done. It would mean not having to compile it I think, unless there is already something like that somewhere that I didn't see since I didn't look at it logged in. Github can host it I think. There is a game called MekHQ on github where I can grab compiled nightlies by logging into github since it's otherwise hidden under the Actions tab, or the compiled milestone releases can be obtained without a login.
I tried saving the page to open in the browser but it doesn't appear to work.
For Chromium based browsers (Chrome and Edge especially), you can press a button on the right side of the address bar to install the app. It must be done in this manner and not just right click downloaded for security reasons. Browsers are very serious about security and don't allow websites to open files on your computer unless you go through a file open dialog, so any site with multiple files can't be run locally unless you install it through this manner.
Firefox doesn't support this feature except on Android. But the game currently doesn't make the mobile keyboard tray pop open, so you can't actually play on Android unless you have a hardware keyboard.
There's potential to make a native desktop build but that isn't something I've done yet.
