Release notes for 50.14 (September 25, 2024):

Here's one to tide people over while the adventure mode beta finishes up.  The big items were graphical changes, but there are also some crash fixes here, and working tomb thoughts and more reliable forgotten beast poisons make the game more fun.  You might have to grab some MSVC redistributables if there's an issue there, since the compiler has updated.

Major bug fixes
(*) Linux trainer crash fixed (again)
(*) Added crash guard for bad civilian alert

Graphics additions/changes
(*) Dwarves/humans/elves/goblins/kobolds have child and baby images, new equipment, and palette support
(*) Garden and crop plants have more images
(*) Mandible portrait fixed for experiments

Other bug fixes/tweaks
(*) Good/bad thoughts about tombs work
(*) Poisonous forgotten beasts work more reliably
(*) Various minor tweaks to input/layout
(*) Fixed drinks being destroyed on unretire
(*) Fixed a few broken sorts

I'm wondering if it fixes touchpad scrolling, and need to test it out.  Right now, mouse wheel scrolling in menus works fine, but touchpad scrolling jitters weirdly and always scrolls down no matter how I change bindings.

Anyway, glad to have baby and child graphics released, so I can update my mod to use them.

I think this could very likely be an SDL issue. Or some combination of SDL and Wine, if you're using that. Might be worth a bug report.

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.

Happens on Windows, so it's not Wine.  I'm sure it's SDL related since it was fine until the SDL upgrade.

I guessed a ton of people were seeing the issue and had reported it already, but just in case I submitted a new bug report for it: https://dwarffortressbugtracker.com/view.php?id=12991

While I have the steam version and could start working on it, personally I'd still prefer to wait until adventure mode is finally re-implemented in the classic version. To be honest, a lot of shit has been going on IRL for me lately so it's been hard to get time and energy to get back into this, but I do wish to someday update Adventurecraft once adventure mode is fully implemented again.

I'm going to basically have to completely remake the mod due to how radically different the file structure is for the new raws however, and I've got no idea when I'd get the energy to try and tackle that...
