[MAGICAL] ? [VEGETATION] ? [SAVAGE]?
« on: February 15, 2008, 12:16:00 pm »

Could someone explains me what these tags do? They seem intersting, and are rarely (or never) used on any creatures,

[MAGICAL] has no use now.

[VEGETATION] probably has some meaning, but for all we know, it is useless. Is found only in the Treant's def.

[SAVAGE] is an alignment tag, I think, like [GOOD] or [EVIL]. You know how there are Haunted, Terrifying, and Sinister areas? Haunted is a mild form of Evil, Terrifying seems to be Evil and Savage, Sinister is Evil all the way. Or so I think, anyways.

I belive magical currently does nothing

I never saw Vegetarian before but I assume it's the opposite of Carnivore. Carnivore makes creatures only be able to eat meat in fortress mode(and elsewhere)

And I'm not sure about savage.  I think it just makes them a touch more aggressive. But I'm not sure.

EDIT:Beat to it. Sean's description of savage makes more sense.

Savage is the most agressive stance for wildlife. Savage creatures will attack indiscriminatly against everything in sight. Predators will hunt smaller creatures then them and benign creatures should only attack on provocation.

Ah, yes, I remember now. BENIGN vs SAVAGE, like that other part of the alignment. Savage is like chaotic, benign is like lawful. So, you want something really nasty, make it savage and evil.  ;)

Read the Wiki

Creatures with savage are very aggresive and appear only on Untamed Wilds, Protected Wilds, or Terrifying areas.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

VEGETATION, not vegetarian.  It means that it's a plant.

I'm not sure what the in-game effects of this tag are, however.  I've never even seen a treant.

[VEGETATION] is probably a type of flesh tag like [STANDARD_FLESH]

Shot in the dark, but Vegetation would most likely mean said creature can hide as a tree/plant, such as a Treant hiding as a tree.

IIRC, Savage creatures can appear on any map. However, only one can show up at a time, except for Savage maps (Joyous Wilds (Savage-Good), Untamed Wilds (Savage-Neutral), and Terrifying (Savage-Evil)), in which case up to two can appear.
