Sims 3 programmers play dwarf fortress

PC Gamer April 2008, Page 29
"Talking to the team, you can see that they are proud of their success. But when you talk games to the engineers and the programmers and designers who develop the game, they talk of the same titles we play. Oblivion, Half-life, world of warcraft. Even, wonderfully, Dwarf fortress."

I wish i could see some DF action in Sims 3.
I'd buy that game for sure.

I'd be slightly pissed to see my ideas in a mass marketed and profitable game when I was relying on donations...

This would be a good time to hit the people at Maxis up for donations.  Hell, this is the sequel to the BEST SELLING COMPUTER GAME OF ALL TIME.  Someone at Maxis must wallowing in cash and classy hooers...

Holy shit... Dwarf Fortress is going to be a major influence on THE BEST SELLING COMPUTER GAME SERIES OF ALL TIME.  Imagine that, Toady has already carved himself out a niche in computer gaming history in just a few short years.

You gotta wonder what they say when they chat about it...
Have they come up with their own mods?
Are they on the forums occasionally?

It seems DF is getting a lot of publicity lately.  But I haven't been playing long enough to know if these little mentions all over the place are normal.

I think the increase is from natural internet sharing, mostly. I learned about DF on the Facepunch Studio's forum, and I decided to try it out after hearing about it for years.

[Healthcare Update Thread] Personally, I can't wait for doctors to get possessed and start surgically attaching axes to champion soldier's arms.

Word of mouth is the best   :D

Now if only Toady would get around to the interface. Then I could bring in a few more converts.

He will, I think. IIRC he stated somewhere that the next Arc will be the Presentation Arc.

By reading this thread, I found out that there is going to be a Sims 3.  Do we really need another Sims game?  The second one was just a duplicate of the first with better graphics.

"Time flows like a river, and history repeats" neglected to include "some rivers flow really, really fast".

Indeed, DF seems to be getting a lot more publicity lately. I wish I could remember where I heard of it, originally.
