Weird things! Can't implement a new race correctly (rea

I really need you help =)
Everything seems to be fine, but there's no Illitid race in the game:
Please take a look at it and help me, it's very important for me =)
I get the adventurer type "illithid", but no races/towns on the map (and no word about illithid in worldgen history).

isn't there usually more BIOME_SUPPORT tags there?

from what ive encountered so far they are just indicators of how likely a civ is to settle there

I try to copy biomes from dwarves, also I noticed some weird tags that are actually cool and from martial mod, but they're not in vanilla... I will post now if I succeed after some cleaning...
But mayge there's some MORe obvious reason?

I updated the first post... It's still not working.

The problem now: I have adventurer, but no civilizations.
Is it because of no-gender or? But not even a word in the history file...

I think I read somewhere that cave civs don't show up as towns in adventure mode so they can't be started at.

I would change their default site to the dwarves' detailed caves and see if they show then.  If it works with cave detailed then its the dungeonlike caves that are stopping ya.

Well actually THERE'S NO civ like this.
Also there's a cave civ "driders" (now outcasts) in the martial arts mod...
Something another.
I will try to use default entity, thanks.
Anyway there should be a workaround, because in MA mod it already was made.
Now I can't get the civ even in the txt export history file =).

I've just copied the dwarven entity, named it illithid and made creature:illithid.
And still no sign... Just an aventurer.
The weirdest thing :i've hot kobolds and goblins playeable instead of dwarves!

FInally: I've got a race but I HAVE CHIMERAE instead of illithids (in towns). But history... . txt says there're illithids...
Also I can't play adv.mode as dwarves, but can as goblins, cobolds and chimerae! What is the problem, help me please!

No, it's because a creature you're using as an entity creature has the same ID as another creature. Look in the error log. Having the same creature in two entities is not a problem, but two creatures with the same ID is.

Your race does not spawn, because, well, they have no gender, and they aren't immortal. The game doesn't have the concept of hermaphrodites yet, so you need two genders for a mortal race to survive.

I agree with the above post, the names in ENTITY:ILLITHID and CREATURE:ILLITHID match and that'll just create a duplication error in the game.

If what you want to do is create a new race that shows up as a civilization in your world it's not necessary to also create a creature file.  The creature files are more for things like animals and monsters.  But if that's what you want to do, change the ID of the creature to something different like CREATURE:ILLITHID2 or CREATURE:ILLITHID_CREATURE as long as it has a different name.
