Regional Prospector, How do I use it?

Hello, I just downloaded Regional Prospector... Unfortunately it comes with no readme and I have no idea how I would use it, Anybody with some more experience at this thing know?

Open DF, and while it's in the start screen double-click the regional prospector icon in the folder you extracted.

Open to the embark region area selector or whatever the heck it is called where you select where to place your fort, and double click the program.

And just because it may be confusing,

For me the program doesn't look like it actually did anything, but once you are selecting a site for embark you'll see all the indicator tiles over mountains.
