Honestly, DF is one of the easiest games in existence to Mod. Granted, as of right now, there's not a whole lot you can mod, but what's there is plenty enough to make this sort of game.

Basically, if you're smart enough to navigate DF, you're smart enough to mod for it.

Well i COULD perhaps copy an existing creature, like the goblins and just add stuff and remove some tidbits.

Hehe, I have zombie mod too. If you remove babysnatcher and item thief tag they can attack even in the 1st year.Also don't forget to add "buildingdestroyer" and "ultravision". My creature was nicely balanced to pretend to be a "zombie". And I don't think it's fun for them to be naked and weaponless. Add some "rusty axes" and "crude bucklers" along with "ancient plates" and you'll get your favourite medieval zombie warriors. I don't see a reason why should they be naked. It's not a f****ng "dawn of the dead".

I played it for a while but got a bit bored. Zombies as species are nice, but when there're zombies ONLY it becomes not so fun...
I think this idea will become much more fun when the FD gets "deseases" upgrade.

Not sure if it'll work but there you go :p, may the zombie hordes rip you to pieces. :)

Oh, here's a note:
They need not eat, drink, (possibly sleep).
They do not bleed, breathe, feel, fear.
They feel no pain.
They don't get nauseous, stunned or paralyzed.
They do not think.

They attack mainly by biting, doing slightly less damage than a cougar.
They move mainly at night, where they can hunt using their superior abilities (extravision).
They're smart enough to open doors, you could add [LOCKPICKER] if you want them to be extra-deadly.
They move under the water, rather slowly. Basically they move one square for every 4 that other creatures move. This is to simulate them walking on the bottom.

Let's see.. oh they have a natural damage block slightly (+1) greater than dwarves, and they're slow.

Basically they're something that makes me want to barricade myself in a mall for a month or two until I run out of food. Preferably a mall with a gun shop. :p

They are nice in general, but I think they need "eat" and don't need to sleep.
Zombies rot but they like to eat, you know =). And I haven't ever seen a sleeping zombie (well, awaken one too thanks god).

I don't think that zombies need any religion.
Also Nothought is not very good because it means they will live even after their brain is destroyed, in movies it's opposite.

Basically I went through the wiki and grabbed all the [noX] flags, yeah I know about the 'eating' but I didn't think they should eat plump helmets and the like, soo... *shrug* I guess they could grow brains in a farm plot. Would have to add farming though  :o Thanks for mentioning that.

I think there's a tag, [CARNIVORE], which prevents them from eating plants. That'd be appropriate for a zombie, I should think.

You guys seem to have got far.. If i were you though, i would probably make them more helpless and not destroy buildings/pick locks. Well, keep on doing what you're doing.. *slowly walks away*

it should take a resonable amount of steps to bash object (or wall) right?

They should also be immune to critical hits. They shouldn't really "die" unless totally hacked or bludgeoned to pieces.

Sure, [SPEED:1750] pretty much makes them the slowest thing in a world, besides a sober Dwarf.

A zombie will move 4 spaces for every 7 a normal [SPEED:1000] creature moves. Or 4 for every 10 an Elf moves.

Named Lips: basically that's what happens when you have [nopain] and [nobleed] tags together.

I'll tell you why I left the zombies naked.  I left them naked because having seven mountains of useless items left behind after every freakin' attack is just going to be a detriment to gameplay.

If you have the zombie of the same raceyou play,you have usable armors instead (though a bit sinky  :)).
