Wyrms
« on: April 26, 2008, 12:18:00 pm »

Wyrms are small draconic creatures, just under the size of a horse, that roams the sky in warm and temperate climates. Able to fly, they can find shortcuts that most predators wouldn't take. They have a fire breath, fire immunity, and in cluster can be deadly to unprepared dwarves. Fortunately, they can be caged, tamed, and trained, and given enough time, replace war dogs. They have golden scales, but there will be some green-scaled ones later.

Unless you can ground Giant Eagles by removing their wings (if that's the case I suggest stealing their code) it's impossible to do so with any creature.

A creature is only able to fly if more than half of its [FLIER] body parts are usable, just in the way that a creature is only able to walk if more than half of its [STANCE] body parts are usable.

So what do I add? FLIER:Wings?
Or leave it be?

Anyone tried it? How was it?

Version 1.2:
-Size lowered to 8 - Human/Horse sized.
-Pet Value lowered to 500.
-Mod Value decreased to 5
-Increased Layering to 150
-Attack Power increased - Predator bite average
-Damage block increased to 1 (Simulating dragonhide)
-Biomes selected - Temperate/Tropical Forests & Grasslands
-Population decreased to 5-15 per years, Frequency 3.
-Changed PET_EXOTIC to PET
-Added MOUNT_EXOTIC

I'll possibly divide the wyrms in two colors later - Gold and Green

Fliers with flier bodyparts must have their flier bodyparts intact.  I'm not sure if they need more than half (as Karlito said), or if it needs all of them.  A flier with no flier bodyparts, on the other hand, flies innately and does not need wings.

However, if at any time a creature falls down, they cannot fly.  So if a flying creature with legs touches down on the ground and you chop off one of its legs, it will be grounded permanently.

How do I set the flier part? On the FLIER tag? Parts tag? Or in another file? Or is it already automatic? =/

I just noticed that in your wyrms you have the tag [DIURNE] the correct tag is [DIURNAL].

Also, 'magestic grace'. (Properly 'majestic'.)
