hostility
« on: January 29, 2008, 11:29:00 pm »

which tokens do i use for a totally mean creature...
preferrably i would want him to
1:never back out from a fight, not even if pitted against 100 military dwarves
2:seek out my colony and charge
ive used the curious beast, it makes the creature a total wuss, even if it has the large predator.
dont know how nofear works, my giant eagles flee anyways :P

theres some suicidal or somesuch tag that may do it. I don't recall exactly what it is though.

EDIT: Never mind I was thinking of NO_FEAR and since you stated that it didn't work...

[RECKLESS] makes them not fear battles and fight to the death. I don't know how to make them actively seek out your dwarves.

[SAVAGE](but it will only show up in certain biomes)[NO_FEAR][NO_THOUGHT][RECKLESS] and [LIKES_FIGHTING] are what you need for it to be a dwarf-charging killing machine.

well... experimenting a bit with deer now (removed benign)...
seems they go more agressive with those tokens, but they still dont seek me out. when using curious beast with those tokens they are more agressive then usual, but still not enough..
gonna boost their size and damage and see what happens

maybe give them firebreath as well for the fun of it ^^

I think you should probably add curious beast_guzzler or item so they go into your base looking for those and will fight your dwarves.

well... firebreathing deer with size 10 and a blunt dmg of 1-6, not to mention the swarm of 25 of them trampling down my 7 starting dwarves with their pets was quite amusing, but experiments show that curious beasts dont go underground. we need some more tags, like hunter tags for beasts. HUNTER_OUTSIDE, HUNTER_CAVERN and HUNTER_ALL? set this behaviour to a pack of firebreathing deer and then you would have true mayhem, even in a fortress of 200 dwarves

I recall putting minotaurs in swamps once and giving them CURIOUSBEAST.  World gen, fort in swamp, a group of approx. seven appears eventually.  They wander almost directly toward my fort (albeit slowly, unlike with _GUZZLER or _ITEM) and attack.  I'm not sure if they wandered right toward me because of CURIOUSBEAST or if the RNG was just favorable (if you can call a minotaur attack favorable).

gonna experiment awhile with the megabeast tag... it certainly made my breath of fire bulla agressive, but curiousbeast still makes them wimpy... wonder if megabeasts head directly for your settlement without the curiousbeast

blargh! what am i doing wrong? this thing, right now it appears on virtually all maps instantly in huge packs. but no matter how i combine these seemingly evil tags i cant get it to attack my military dwarves.

[CREATURE:BULLA]
   [NAME:bulla:bullas:bulla]
   [TILE:'B'][COLOR:5:7:0]
       [MODVALUE:8]
       [LARGE_ROAMING]
       [MEGABEAST][LARGE_PREDATOR]
   [POPULATION_NUMBER:100:100]
   [CLUSTER_NUMBER:5:15]
       [CARNIVORE][NOFEAR][NOPAIN][RECKLESS][LIKES_FIGHTING][NOTHOUGHT]
       [PREFSTRING:glowing eyes][BODY:QUADRUPED:TAIL:2EYES:2EARS:NOSE:2LUNGS:HEART:GUTS:ORGANS:THROAT:NECK:SPINE:BRAIN:MOUTH:2HEAD_HORN]

       [BIOME_ANY_LAND]

I mean, isnt this supposed to be the most ferocious creature moddable?

First off, 2HEAD_HORN is not valid for attacking. You need to have 2 attacks, with LHORN and RHORN.
