Well for the most part it seems Talvi has taken over the mod :P
Good thing too, cuz he managed to fix some stuff I broke lol
I think I will use my new found free time to sleep, then I will actually PLAY DWARF FORTRESS, which I haven't done in days now LOL

Just genned a test world. Thread Necromancers (interaction-based) are working now. Choice Thread Necromancer books:

These from a 100 year worldgen, small map size.


Just Necrothreaders isn't quite enough for ambient flavor, in my opinion... I'd like to do some stuff like change cats to lolcats, and add things like Chuck Norris and such (just adding Internet memes in general), but I don't want to do anything without consulting you guys. Therefore... suggestions, anyone?

LOL well I like the idea of changing stuff into internet memes in general, but how could you possibly do Chuck Norris justice? I mean other then giving him every tag ever and making all his unarmed attacks have 1000000% velocity :P

EDIT: oh and I'm not trying to throw you under the bus or something Talvi, its just you already started makin stuff better then I could so I figured it only right that you take over you know?

I only have a limited amount of time per day to be on (my laptop's hard drive crashed a few months ago, I'm borrowing someone else's computer when I can), but yeah, I'm adding a lot. :P Hopefully I'll get it finished this morning - there's not really that much left to add. :) I'm torn between whether I should tell you guys what I'm doing, or leave it as a surprise...

All right, then. :)

I think it's about done... Well, except for testing, but normally I'd spend at least a week doing that. The thread is already started, and everybody's waiting, so instead of allowing interest to dwindle, I'm going to just let us get this show on the road.


Major features of the current version of the Lolmod:
  • Dwarves are now called forumites.
  • Several of the dwarven job names have been changed. The expedition leader, for example, is now called the site founder.
  • Three new civs: Necrothreaders, Trolls, and Haxxors.
  • Dwarves/forumites have knees so they can take arrows to them.
  • Seven new creatures, three of which are domestic, one of which is the lolcat.
  • Two new weapons, the Banhammer and the Laptop. The laptop is ranged and has its own weapons, while the Banhammer is craftable from stone.
  • Instruments have been replaced with forum-related items such as sigs and avatars. (It'd be nice if we made these for trade.)
  • High Lord Necrothreaders, a type of megabeast.
  • The ability to become a Thread Necromancer during worldgen by learning the secrets.
  • Many new book title parts specifically oriented towards lulz.
  • Thread Zombies.
  • Increased Thread Necromancer spawn rate - on average, more towers per world.
