I am wondering if there should be another use for the fortress. Maybe the capital needs some kind of good that this area can supply. The area has alot of obsidian, and some metals from what I can see on the outside. What do you guys think?

We must export weapons!  Make a rule like 10* your year in weapons must be sold to the dwarf caravan (can include obsidian swords in the begining, but after a while should be iron and steel weapons).

Then the flux has to be imported, because I don't think there is any. Iron on the other hand should be possible.

Anyways I think 5x year would be more realistic looking for the possibility of a longer game.

BTW two spots still open.

I like 5x weapons exported per year (take a screenshot of the trade screens to verify).

I was thinking that we are using your idea, only halving the amount of weapons. Armor should also be exported. I have also decided that the last dwarf should atleast have three points in mining since we need someone to dig for us. we could also start now letting the seventh manager to choose an imigrant as his dwarf. Anyone against any of this?

t''s so sad.  It''s as if De Beers as invaded Dwarf Fortress.  I nearly cried when I saw how valued and rare diamonds were in Dwarf Fortress.

I'll make my own backstory thankyou.  (And that's one of the last things I'm going to make my characters into.)

Ok, no sending you to a trader. I wish Jualin could answer me. I asked him if his dwarf could have some mining experience, but he hasn't answered.

I meant that he\she\it could be the trader, anyways on trade.
Should we try to import all the flux we can get, or should iron weapons and armour be enough? What is the difference between obsidian swords and steel ones? If there are no differences I think that the guards should use obsidian swords to save iron.

The only difference between obsidian swords and steel swords is that obsidian swords take wood to make.  Also you don't need a forge or fuel to make obsidian swords.  I'll save the steel for armor if you have a good supply of obsidian.  Other than that obsidian swords also look real nice.
