I prefer just playing around with simple minor/major stuff, and then occasionally throwing in a seventh or suspended note, for variety. Simplicity sounds better to me. Then again, I really want to figure out how to do the stuff Toady does. Not to say that's it terribly complicated what he's doing, but I just don't know enough weird chords. So perhaps expanding my musical knowledge is the correct path. Hm.

For a while now I've been messing around with various strumming patterns with a G -> Am -> C progression.  It can sound kinda cool.

EDIT:  Okay, try this one.  You have to play it a bit fast before it starts sounding alright.
