I wonder what the damage modifier of a +short sword+ is... I think i'm gonna make a fort where my military is equipped only with short swords made out of non-existant sharp stone. Theoretically you could make a whole non-existant fortress via "blocks". Wonder what color it would be...

Sometimes I wish I could just say, "I want some ice cream."  And they will be like, "Sure, that will be money dollars"

Anything nonexistant is purple. Except creatures, they're solid black.

Btw, this is why vermin remains are purple.

This is starting to sound like Catch-22, with the house he hadn't gone down every day to help build, and how proud he was of his not craftsmanship.

The +roast+ is a lie!

No, the +roast+ is a spy.

It never really was on your side. And the reason you can't see what it's made up of is because it's either disguised, cloaked, or both!

Is this actually true or a Zork: Grand Inquisitor reference? (maybe just a zork reference)?
Before you answer, you should know that I really liked Z.:G.I.

Can't it be both?

You can allow or stop your dwarves from eating these mushrooms, but it's entirely optional and doesn't turn Dwarf Fortress into Dwarf hookah-smoking pad.

Just import some        ore and make         bars out of it.  Just hurry before the dwarf               s your               crafter.

A bug along similar lines is that every so often a noble demands an "Item in their room" (metal beds mostly).
I rationalize it that the king is just sitting there, demanding you guess what he's thinking of.

If it was a Zork reference, it was by Toady. I never played Zork (I suppose it's a game?).

Yep, an ancient game from some folks at MIT who decided they wanted to goof off.

It was one of the first text-based adventure games, where you type in commands and your character does them.  Provided you typed in the correct command.  Using correct game-recognizable grammar.     Without any typos.

It's dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I played a similar game on the ZX. The Hobbit. It had "graphics" in form of backgrounds though. The most notable memory of that game is me (Bilbo the hobbit) throwing a coil of rope and killing Elrond the Halfelven in Rivendell.

Heh. ADOM reference. :)
