especially at the amount he's mining now... that's not that useful ;) It's fun to toy around with, but it's a module with very limited use. I think the only ship that really should/could fit one realistically is the orca, iirc.

and of course that frigate you use to zoom around with to set up some mining bookmarks, but even then its a bit of a waste.

especially since you can judge the lower end roids just by looking at their size, easily.

haha, Eve.

I started playing in the Gemini phase of beta and for the first year or so of release.

I've never seen a game change so much.

I was in a small but sucessful corporation. We generally operated right on the edge of 0.0. What killed the game for me was the fact that everything was always 10 jumps away. Getting the money for my battleship took weeks, getting all the gear I wanted took hours, getting shot down took minutes. It was just so frustrating.

I didn't really have a problem with the whole, "you get blown up you loose it" part. What got me was travel time and yes, I did play recently enough that they added the whole "jump to 0" feature.

I still liked the game though. At one point we were mining a moon. Every tuesday we'd get a shipment of ice and every thrusday we'd send out a shipment of what ever material it was we mined. Someone would take that material and react it into a different materail, send it out to a builder who would turn it into a tech 2 ship.

The sheer supply lines and logistics of the game were staggering, and it was cool to be a group of 10 people fitting in as a cog.

I knew roughly what was happening yet my mouse dragged itself over the link and clicked...

I wasn't expecting that.

Less rick roll, more Eve  ::)

So i got this ship from a mission, it's called a Wreathe. What is its use? Lots of cargo but only one hardpoint for guns or mining lasers. I suppose filling it with ore with only one mining hardpoint would take forever. It's more like a space truck right?

Right - but it's only a stopgap solution (is that the correct word?)

Imho for minmatar the only real noteworthy hauler is the Mammoth, which, sadly, needs industrial lvl4 to fly.
I don't even have that skill yet, I still haul my shit (if even, usually i pay other folks to do it  :P) with a hoarder.

Mining in those ships really really sucks, because of the limited turret hardpoints (1 tops, some have 2 highslots, but always only 1 turret hardpoint). You can, in theory, afk mine in a highsec system, but all in all it's not worth the effort. At all.

That being said... one of the most fun fights I ever been in was a full blown hauler fleet fight. Happened in factional warfare between minmatar and amarr, both fleetcommanders took care of the necessary arrangement, and funny enough, it worked. People showed up for the fight JUST in haulers (only a few spoilsports in interceptors were there, but they were quickly disposed of by both sides simultaneously) and we duked it out.

The mammoth is really killer for that, it can mount 3dmg mods, a medium sized shield tank and a medium t2 autocannon  ;D

My main ship right now is a rifter, nice firepower hehe
It eat through ammo like crazy however, with 3 turrets.
