I'll say this for CCP: They have amusing "Hey, you should reactivate your account" emails. I did not use their rejoin offer over the winter holidays, and so they're trying again. Name censored to prevent possible grudges from carrying over.

Quote
Use That ISK! Limited time free reactivation offer

My name is <Character Name> and it is my hopes that you remember the days when we used to travel together among the constellations of New Eden. I've recently noticed that when we last parted ways a substantial amount of ISK remained in my account. While one would normally relish such a windfall, this has proven a rather problematic situation for me, as the lack of sufficient advancement in AI has left me unable to spend it myself.

I have spoken with the local authorities and negotiated a free pass for your return in order to reclaim your funds. The button below will grant you a one-day activation and it is my highest wishes that you will join me in New Eden and put these funds to good use.

The total amount awaiting you is 308,638,955 which I have been told can be traded for at least one full month of time in New Eden, if not more.* Please return and take this ISK off my hands. Spend it on PLEX. Spend it training new skills. Indulge in a night of reckless abandon. Having 308,638,955 ISK in my bank and not being able to spend it is torture. Please save me from this fate.

* Price of PLEX may vary from region to region. Current rate at the time of this email is approximately 260 million ISK.

Yours faithfully,

<Character Name>

Also, to add onto advice:
heres a tip for all 0.0 travel.pre-align before warping. waiting for an alignment to the next gate can be agonizingly slow.

be sure to set your path so you get a nice heads-up of the next gate on your jump chain. When you pop in the new system, you are cloaked, do not move. Look around and get your bearings. If there is a gate camp, DO NOT PANIC because they cant see you yet. Look around and find youe target gate on your trip, double-click right next to the gate and your ship will apply thrusters and align to the new destination, once aligned THEN and only then do you click the warp. With a really fast ship that has good align times, you will be able to avoid most gate camps. also, shuttles align SUPER fast so in a shuttle you can pretty much whizz through hostile territory.
Learn to use the directional scanner first. Use it before warping to determine if you're about to warp into another gate camp.
Of course, it's even better to just check the map for likely gate camp systems first, and plot other routes or wait a while.

Just re-activate my account. So far my hangar tally stands at one Retriever, two Rifters, One Vexor, and an iteron IV. Can't seem to find my Nemesis or Catalyst which is depressing. Anyone still active?

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.

I just started. I realized how boring it is mining with a badger. As my friend says: it's like whacking your balls with a hammer. Repeatedly.

That's because mining is for lowly serfs. You're supposed to be killing the miners. ::)

On the one hand, I want to get back to playing, on the other, I don't think I'd be able to stand running missions after coming to the realization that unless you're making more than 100 million ISK an hour, it's more economical to just buy timecodes and sell plexs. :/

Maybe when I have a job I'll join again, and just let it train up skills until I can do the entertaining shit...

Anyways, I am with a few RL friends and want to start up a corp and grab a planet in the nullsec systems before Tyrannis goes live. Anyone want to join the corp/ help us claim a planet?

I'm thinking either "Hammers of Armok" or "Miners of the Twelfth Bay" for the name.

I might start up again. I haven't played in a while, but if you're interested in helping me start a corp, I wouldn't mind.

I'm already a Caldari character with Trading, Manufacturing, Mining, and Combat skills.

Missiles are deadly.

Missiles are godly against rats, but I hear they're shit for pvp. Caldari do have some of the best... "small scale" pvp support craft, though. And the Invulnerable Drake... I played caldari, but apparently Amarr and Minmatar ships are the best for PvP. I never actually wound up in PvP though, despite flying around lowsec in a rifter for a few hours looking for someone to attack, before moving on and grinding missions for ISK, which burned me out on EVE for a while. When I wanted to get back into it though, the last expansion had just been released, and I no longer had the bandwidth to update it... D:

Don't get hung up about what race is good in pvp or not. Each race has good ships that can fit into most combat gangs.  By the time you have to worry about more specific stuff, you'll know what the deal is.

Also, try not to mission or mine for isk, it'll kill your soul.  There's lots of more fun ways to make isk, like looting the smoking wrecks of you enemies.

For you guys wanting to go to 0.0, try fountain and talk to the sov holders there to get permission.  Otherwise, go to NPC sov that has a station.
