Baron/elf crash
« on: August 11, 2006, 06:27:00 pm »

If anybody has gotten up to a baron, and the next spring is approaching, you might want to save and hold off for the next patch.  Elf traders caused a crash.  It's now fixed.

you can't add any goods or skills, and the escape button litters all the tool tips at the bottom of the screen.

Ah, your data/init/interface.txt seems destroyed in some way.  Is this on a new version with the new interface.txt?  It changed from 19a to 19b anyway.

This seems like about the behavior you'd have it you used the new exe with an old interface.txt, since a lot of the commands would be initialized to Escape since it can't find them, although there might be other ways to do it.

Hm, it may be the elves crashing my game, then. However, the dwarf on the icy river still cannot move. Curiouser and Curiouser.

Oh, damn. They came and crashed my game despite the lack of barons. :S

What else attracts these tree huggers? Is this even supposed to happen? :\

How do you know it was them?  The crash I'm talking about would happen before they were visible.

Ah, that's exactly it then.  But no baron?  Ah!  It's ANY standard noble...  man, I'll get this up tonight.  I'm surprised anybody's games are working.  What a wonderful bug.
