I just had a goblin ambush with 5 marksmen and a legendary swordmaster tagged as the local site leader. He was unbelievably agile, mighty and very tough.

Luckily my hallway lined with wardogs held him and his crossbow wielding friends off long enough for my two champions (only 10 dwarves in the fort total) to arrive. Before they got there he personally chopped 4 war dogs to pieces and his escort peppered bolts into 5 more, leaving me with only 3 left - one of which is horribly maimed with half its body missing. The champions managed to kill him and his escort with only minor wounds (mostly light wounds, one yellow arm caused by leader's longsword) but it probably would have been worse had they not wasted their ammo on the dogs and if the two dwarves werent insanely legendary fighters (armor user, shield user, hammer, wrestling - all legendary) armed with high quality steel equipment.

Now heres the fun part: the goblin leader's inventory.

His armor was almost all masterwork too:
A masterwork iron longsword, masterwork iron chain mail, exceptional iron chain leggings, masterwork iron helm, masterwork and exceptional iron low boots, masterwork and exceptional iron gauntlets. He probably would have had some crazy clothing too, had I not erased all clothing entries in the entity file.

That's one badass goblin, and it seems he has been VERY busy in collecting trophies. I'm not really sure what to do with all this stuff... I was thinking of selling the human bone and leather stuff to the human caravans because it would be kinda funny, but I might just stockpile it somewhere as a collection.

Give so worthy an opponent a proper burial. Dump his bones in a pit with all his trophies and armor and seal it with a grate or window. Add a statue garden and it would be like Lenin's Tomb!

Give this opponent a worthy burial; tie him to a wagon and circle your fortress three times. Then, sell every one of his trophies and leave his carcass to rot under the sun!

I say just let him rot! Then make a totem out of him. It would ironic in a way...

Too bad you can't impale his body on a spike - that's the way Goblins prefer to go out from what I understand.

That's an idea.. (except, the opposite), you could melt his armor and use the metal to make statues and such for his tomb, if you are so inclined...

Carve his bones into crossbows and use his armor for bolts. Install him into the first weapon trap.
