Dwarf Fortress 0.21.100.19a Released

Download

Changes

Note the wonderful version number system -- 5 reqs down, but now it looks smaller.  But remember 100 is larger than 95.  It doesn't have leading zeros, like an IP address or something.

Let me know if this works all right.  There are some more little text files in there you might want to look at.

You can press ESC during dwarf mode to get at the local map exporter.  Now you can see how small your fortress really is.  The BMPs can be very large, but if you PNG them they can be manageable, and some lossy format can help even more.

edit:  Also notable, you can just turn off the music with data\init\init.txt now, and there are some helpful sentences there.

Tree designation decay stays. I am in the very very beginning, only dug out one room yet, so there is no way it can be due to pathfinding problems or whatever else. Designation just comes off.
Oh, and plant gathering designation too.

Oh, and i also noticed that "X is more experienced" message do not correspond with the actual skill advancement.

Btw, you wrote you randomised the starting drowsiness somewhat, but its really hard to notice. Until i had 50+ dwarves 90% of them were sleeping all at the same time.

Aw, my saves aren't magically fixed. Too bad. I'll have to work from my last unbroken backup (which is from a while back), then. (Whine whine whine.)

The local map export thing is neat.

What sort of map was the tree/plant des decay on?  One of those normalish forest ones?

I'd have to make them sleep less often to randomize the sleep times more, unless you want them sleeping in the beginning sometimes.

FP, still working on the saves -- they are a bounty of bizarre happenings.

Hot - heavy forested - thick - calm.

Doesnt really matter when, or how often, just not all at once...maybe you can tie in some effectors ? Like, job tiredness value or something...
