I'm waiting for my computer to get fixed so ever since I've been using a backup I have which is 2.1 GHz Dual-Core, 2 GB RAM, and some intergrated graphics card that can't do squat unless you play Dwarf Fortress then it shines.

I get about 40 FPS on a pretty old 2D fort.

Turn off Steam. I mean, do you need it running always? :)
Also if it's laptop, you'd better not open it.
It depends on the laptop. Mine has a load of access panels on the bottom, so all I need to do to get at the heatsink and fan is take out a couple of screws.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.
