Lots of cool stuff coming up to play with... So what's the first mad thing you're going to do with the new options?

I know what I'm going to do. First I'm going to carve/rewall the outside of the mountain into a massive pyramid, and then I'll cover said pyramid in green glass...

I think I might check out the different town layouts and whatnot in Adventure Mode first.

Then in Fortress Mode, I'm going to carve out a thin and tall spire, with a maze of catacombs underneath.

A maze of spires? Yea... A dwarven fortress high up in the air, resting on impossibly thin spires of crystal glass stretching up into the clouds...

...and then a really long ladder down to the mines. Pity the guys doing the deep mining.

Then make goblins [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] and see if I can drown captives in blood.
Including bone walls if possible of course.

Someone mentioned creating the dwarven version of Rapture in the Future of the Fortress thread - that sounds good to me.

I'm going to experiment with flows, see how the new mountain layout will affect long-term fortress goals, and do some Z-axis related design efficiency pondering.

Create a series of sewer networks and tunnels under a new fortress for ambience.

Really, could you imagine having some strange waterways under your fort wheres dwarves dare not go, in fear of all the monsters?  :p and this new fortress would be a giant tall castle half carved into the mountain.

That was me, and I am going to do it with my second fortress as well.

My first fortress will be my primary "Screw around" fortress and will feature all of my dwarves getting killed the first time I strike water, probably.

Honestly, the "everyone died" posts are what I'm looking forward to the most. Right now you have "raped by sieges", "accidentally permaflooded", "Everyone starved", and "Failed mood dwarf commences slaughter." Next version seems like it'll have so much more.

I think when the new version comes out, i'll play Adventure mode as a Frogman or something. I'll lurk around under the water, nabbing any unlucky sucker that's too close to the water & drown him.

Either that or fly around. Whichever comes first.

Recreate the tragedy mule video... with elves.

Attempt to use the new flow system to create a beer river and/or beer volcano.

Attempt to mine the mountain out completely.... and then rewall the entire original outside with the stone.
