Hanging prisoners/goblins

I was just wondering, is it possible to hang goblins/prisoners who are attached by a rope by placing a grate on the tile they sit on and opening it using mechanisms. If this works, I'm planning on dropping the corpse into the baroness's bedroom, which is right below the jail.

I don't know if it works yet, as I don't have any available goblins, test it out for me. ( Sucks that I just got this idea now, I executed an entire squad of goblins via firing squad yesterday.)

If they actually put that rope or chain around their neck as opposed to the leg, that would speak wonders of how the nobles view criminals.

Can you control where the rope is attached? I thought it was neck by default.

Also, a bit off topic, but how do you remove armor and weapons from caged gobbos?

Just designating it for dumping via the stocks screen should work, iirc.

How do I know which equipment is theirs though?

Sadly, you can't, but the idea of hanging things opens up a whole new dimension of traps and stuff.

It would be nice to make it so you could strip goblins of their stuff using [k] on the cage.

# Bloat255, INCIDENTAL HANGINGS, (Future): If a creature is attached by the neck to a chain building and falls down in the z direction or into a chasm, it should start strangling.

Looks like a hanging goblin is just for decoration right now. :P

On this note though... do chained gobbos attack anything that comes in range, or are they "caged" and unable to attack?

Oh god, if they can't attack, then you have training dummies.
