So now I'll have to choose between bigger tiles and more tiles on the screen at once? Time to get used to the original ASCII, I suppose. Or buy a bigger screen.

A problem with the expanded view: The cursor stays near the top where the center of the screen used to be. So the view is actually entirely expanded south, not outward. Pretty annoying.

Toady, you didn't give us enough time to build up hype! ::) Regardless, I'm going to do adventure mode with this. Resizable screens should make it much easier to take advantage of your character's full viewing field.

Can you climb mountains in adventure mode now?

You could since 39a, you just get a notification now.

Yah, now I have a reason to go off and climb some mountains, yo toady, next you should do the same thing if you swim across an ocean.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Wonderful! Landscapes will be good to look at now, both in adventure, and in fortress.

By the way, I tried to change [WINDOWED:PROMPT] to [WINDOWED:YES]. It still asked for a prompt :(

Just a question, what GRID X/Y and WINDOW X/Y did you use in your preview shot of the dwarves (http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/imgs/larger5.png)?  I can't seem to get mine to look right - the text is oddly small and most tiles look strange and sometimes hard to see.  I think I just don't understand the proper ratio, but I figured out a larger one that was 'equivalent' to 80x25 on a 800x600 display (because that's what looks right to me) and it doesn't quite work out.

Still, a very nice new version.  Once I figure out how to make my dwarves look normal, I'll be loving the ability to see hundreds of them at once! ^__^

Any other game in existence and I'd be irked at the constant updates and tweaks... but in this case I'll make a clear and thankful exception. :)  I hereby offer up a toast to Toady, and pray that his work will continue at a pace that outruns my fortress construction!

If it sounds somewhat condecending, then I apologize in advance, for I have nothing but the utmost respect for your incredible skill in creating sucha game in the first place, and a degree of dedication I find to be more and more rare.  Thank you.
