Not really a bug:  If your leader goes to prison and everyone else loses touch/goes into hiding, someone still pays rent on apartment savehouses.  This usually means you'll have no money when you come out.  Kind of annoying.

Also, he was in prison for 6 years.  I check polls when he comes out, and 100% of people have heard of the LCS.  Should there be some sort of decay if there's no activity for that long?

Hmm, okay.  I went back to the patch labelled "alpha 6+".  If that's the start of alpha 6 development rather than the end of it, then yeah.

Hm, odd, I think that is the one right after alpha 6. Unsolved mystery then. I know a lot of that stuff was in alpha 6.  :D

Semi-repeatable CTD-  I've got a save where I'm about to convert a sleeper.  Sometimes it crashes, sometimes not.  Would you like the save?  If so, what's the best way to send it?

EDIT- Apparantly it has nothing to do with the sleeper.  I got past it, then went out next day to try to get another one.  When I leave the zone with a date that night, it crashes.

It's possible that my SCM tool messed up the diff.  I'm running a prerelease version of it with some pretty experimental changes.  :D

I don't know if this a bug or not, but you lose sleepers if the interrogator dies or goes to prison. It seems like if sleepers persist after you disband, they should persist while in prison.

sleepers should always persist- being sleepers they don't require contact with whoever recruited them, in fact it could be harmful for their operation. Also they shouldn't count towards a characters recruitment maximum for the same reasons.

During a siege of the Homeless Shelter, my Founder was arrested for murder, etc, right away (when the siege was announced) yet no one else was.  Further, the siege persisted until I surrendered.

Edit:  The Shelter was raided again not more than a week later, despite the fact that the two people in the shelter were one guy who had already been arrested for disturbing the peace, and the other wasn't caught for some reason in the raid.

It is strongly implied that sleepers are in occasional contact with the LCS. That's how you get workplace maps, raid warnings, secret documents, and can tap lawyer sleepers for representation. That doesn't mean they're hanging out and having drinks on the weekends, but a secret meeting every couple weeks that the game skims over seems appropriate. As I envision it, sleepers do require ongoing contact with the LCS in order to operate -- they need instructions and coordination for their public opinion efforts. Disbanding the LCS allows you to retire from the resistance, but there's nothing that says you aren't still giving sleepers directives to keep things on track.

The way I lean is to eventually have it where they do lose contact if the recruiter/interrogator is unreachable, and do take up a slot (you still need some leadership ability to recruit people as sleepers and still can't manage an infinite amount), but show up on the promotion screen like other liberals, just with a special sleeper color. This use of a recruit slot for sleepers isn't to discourage you from recruiting sleepers, but to encourage you to expand the LCS's network of active operatives so you can support a network of sleeper agents under them. I'm not married to that idea though.

Problem:  Interrogators become limited use characters when sleepers take recruitment slots.  Maybe sleepers can be assigned to a different LCS member based on their relation to the interrogator.  If the interrogator's full, push it to a subordinate, or one of their subordinates, and so forth.

in fact, in addition to the promote button, there should be an option to reassign a liberal under a different ringleader (say one guy does basic training for new recruits, while another is in charge of heavy assault). and ofcourse should he be cracked he rats out both.

expanding on that Idea instead of organizing people into groups (as has been suggested), allow the player to give orders to all subordinates of X.

Given numbers being thrown around for caps, sleepers counting towards recruitment limits would make a sleeper heavy game considerably more difficult than the alternatives because each socialist threat interrogator would get one sleeper.

The three solution I can think of are:
-Give juice to interrogators past socialist threat...or even to recruiters of all types past 50 juice.

-keep sleepers separate, possibly with monthly leadership, heart, charisma or street sense checks to keep sleepers.Success meaning you keep contact with all sleepers and failure indicating you lose contact with some number of them, possibly ranked in terms of power.

-Make sleepers count fractionally towards recruitment caps, for 5 sleepers would equal one recruit. This makes sense to me becuase maintaining a sleeper would require a fraction of the effort living with the same person and working side by side day and day out requires.

I like a1s's idea of allowing reassignment up or down, but keeping a memory of different people they can rat out. I'm still unsure on sleepers going forward -- I do agree that it seems wrong to have to get lots of interrogators in order to manage multiple sleepers.

What if there was a way for them not to remember? Like a heavy drug dose or twow? Out for a few weeks/months in the hospital, but that's one less charge.
