I put up a version 3.03 which might address the clothing repair bug.

Is that Russian or Lithuanian on that site?  What does it say?  Should I link there or to the geocities site in your profile?

I'll update version on my site then.

Site is in Russian, as it's my primary language  :). I only live in Lithuania...

Description of LCS there:

The most original textgame ever! Forget the political correctness! Author's (comrade Toady One) website: <link>

elven.tqst.ru is my own site, and geocities one is our cooperative with brother... So you can link to whichever you want  :)). Geocities is geocities, but it's in English, and tqst is not.

I'm running 3.02- so far no bugs, but I thought you could tweek a few things:

When you set up a bussiness front it doesnt rename it in the site list.

When I had two programmers engageing in credit card fraud, the bussiness front hid them so well they were never caught and made 10s of thousands of dollars.  They should either be easier to catch- or make less money- even if it isn't like real life.

Steal a car in a group so that a member with security can get it quickly and then your drivers can actually drive away.  Of course, extra gunners never hurt.  I'd understand if they still had to steal individually so as not to attract attention.

I just wanted a faster interface really.  I made a squad called "brownie" but it was a pain to set them all up how I wanted (all selling brownies obviously).

Ah, this can be accomodated.  Is it working well otherwise?  What's the general review now that the worst bugs seem gone?  Anybody seen a movie yet?

I saw a movie of the police beating some guy!  It was awesome!  How many movies are possible?

Could you make it possible to designate new people you recruit as sleepers?  I mean, no one knows that they went on a few dates with some guy or talked to someone about the issues...

How about selling stolen cars?

I think sleepers should be hard to get (and thus kidnapping)...  the way I've rationalized it is that the mistreated hostages are so brainwashed/hypnotized/messed up that they have no trouble avoiding suspicious, whereas your love recruits would just be "acting" -- maybe you should be able to put them in as sleepers, but with minuses or a higher chance of getting caught, which would bring disastrous consequences...

Selling cars sounds reasonable...

There are 5 movies, some more involved than others.  They took a long time to make, especially the one you saw, but in future LCS versions I'll probably throw in a few new ones every time.

INCIDENTALLY:  In case people haven't looked at the other forums, I put up a game I wrote over the weekend:

WWI MEDIC

You'll need a half decent windows set up to run it (anything that does armok is more than enough).  There's another forum where you can post your thoughts on it if you want.  Just had to get it out of my system.  I made a scummy version of it 5 or 6 years ago.

It'd be nice if you could set individual people to move between your hideouts from the Activate menu--sometimes you want to move one person to a different hideout, and it's bothersome to form a new group just for that purpose.

As a matter of fact, I am.  I guess ASCII-based universe is relatively small.

Two small bugs I encountered (at least, they look like bugs):  While breaking some liberals out of confinement in the courthouse, I somehow 'rescued' one of my sleeper lawyers who normally worked there.  He had never been listed as arrested and was still considered a sleeper both before and after I rescued him; I assume the game just saw that his location was in the court and assumed that meant he was in jail.

And secondly, after one of my safehouses was raided by police and I escaped, it was still available for me to go to in the location list, and everything I'd built there was still intact.  When I cycled through my safehouses using the 'z' command, its name had changed; but it was still the exact same place as far as everything else was concerned, name and all.

[edit:] Oh, yeah, and one other small idea that came to me:  It'd be nice if there were "next/last liberal" buttons available while looking at a liberal's detailed attribute screen.  Often I just want to find the liberal with the highest score in a given stat or skill, and it's tough to do that when I have to hit each one's letter, hit enter to go back, hit the next one's letter, occasionally hit PGDN and start from A again, etc, etc, etc.  Next and last buttons would make searching through your liberals a whole lot easier.

Okay, I'll jot all that down. Sounds good... that sleeper bug is probably caused as you suggest. How careless...

I'm still not sure what's wrong with clothing repair.  Hopefully I'll locate the problem at some point.
