Demoralizing car crash

My leader has died in a car crash, and suddenly it is that not one of my Elite Liberals wants to take his place. They all have lost touch with the LCS. Though in other circumstances, such as death in a siege (I backup my save), the new leader is chosen as normal.

I can understand nobody wanting to take your place if you get hit by a bus, but crashing a car isn't anywhere near as shameful.
