I play well over 100, sometimes up in the 300 range.
I can't stand a slow fort.

Those with 100+ must be playing really small maps then, no?

On my current, amazing 3x4 map, i get about 50fps with 90 dwarves.  Normally, 30-40 is the norm.  Under 20-25 means abandon (I just don't have the patience)

MyLittlePonyBuiltMyHotRod, this is your first warning. I would like to direct you to read our forum's FAQ and posting guidelines before posting again. Specifically we don't use swear words here, and your picture of Stalin riding a Year3 Limited Edition Starflower inside a German concentration camp was both upsetting and historically inaccurate.

Nope.
That said, I prefer speed to size.
What good is a vehicle that can fit 8 people if it can't even go 25 MPH?

I'm capped at 400, but I typically max out towards 350.  Around 50 - 60 dwarves (about when I start something new), I'm around 120 fps.

I'm really starting to feak out now, I got two more waves of immigration and my fps just peaked at my set maximum (50)  I started with just 16.

I play DF in the background, with hour long bursts of micro management, so fps doesn't bother me, but this... this is insanity!

50-ish with around 20 dwarfs and a 7x7, multi-z level map with lots of staircases and a huge apartment complex thing.  Dips to about 30-40ish on 8x8 maps or when I hit about 50 dwarfs.

right now I'm running at about 4 fps, with 210 dwarves on a 6x6 map, with about 120 animals (I really should cage some of them, but swarms of tame cave crocodiles and war dogs should be nice for defense if anything ever got in :) ) wondering about my narrow many corridors and rooms of my sprawling ad-hoc fortress design (it's my first fortress that I just keep adding on to).  There's a permanently running lake/waterfall room, and a brook and an underground river, and I'm currently pumping the water out of one of my basement levels after the successful testing of my 19x19x13 above ground water tower -> various hatched openings around the map, flooding trap. :)

Running on an athlon 64 @ 2.25 Ghz, 1GB of ram.  I really should start a new fortress, I've been reading forums or doing other things while I let it run.

Ah you people with your Windows computers and your FPS.  You'd be surprised how much the inability to view my FPS had reduced my stress.

Actually, to me, viewing FPS has reduced my stress because I now know exactly why my legendary miner is so slow, instead of seeing him slack off.
