The West
« on: October 16, 2008, 01:52:05 pm »

Is anyone here playing The West? It's a free-to-play web game with an old west theme.

http://www.the-west.net/

It lets you found your own towns, and the idea of a western town called Boatmurdered appeals to me.  ;D It's a pretty well-made game. Check it out.

I can't resist these. I joined world 2 as 'Wooty Bear'.

I'm on world two myself, as Strangething. I'm hanging out near a town called Hidden Springs now.

The best advice I can give new players is to do all the quests you can. You get an awesome hat after you finish the sheriff's quest. If you just need experience, try picking cotton. (You might need those cotton bolls, anyway.) There's some good information here:

I need $300 to start a town. That's a lot of bean picking.  :(

I just joined to server2 as GrooveTiger. I'll try playing some of the quest when I get home.

New players, excellent. Do me a favor and send a telegram to me (Strangething) so I know your names.

Unless someone finds an awesome location, you guys can converge on my location. Click on my name (from the telegram or rankings screen) to get my profile page, then click the little square widget next to my name. That centers the map on me. Then use the mini map to find out what direction to travel in.

I don't think there's a way to send money or items between players. I've got $143 now, plus items I can sell for another $70.

I got lucky, I'm about a map grid square and a half from you. 4 hour journey if I'm reading it right, so I'll be there next morning. That really sucks how you can't trade with other players =/

I haven't been to the forums for a long time, so most of you probably don't know/remember me, but I'll join, too. I've got a 9 hour journey to you and other stuff to do, so I'll probably be around there sometime tomorrow.

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

I started a thread on the West forums:

Much easier than sending telegrams.  :)

Yeah there's no point posting over there unless it's for OTHER people from The-West to read (damn elf cowboys). If it's Dwarf Business, it's better done here.
