De-soldiering utility?
« on: November 02, 2008, 03:24:17 pm »

Please, in the name of all that's dwarfy.... is there any way to get someone de-soldiered after they've reached elite wrestler? I don't care if I have to remove all his wrestling skill, I badly need this particular person to re-join my working force. Pretty please modders, with a cookie on top?

You can use Dwarf Companion to de-fortress/royal guard as far as I know. It's one of the memory check boxes.

Through some hunting around in the options, I'm sure you can change his job. If that fails, just reduce his/her military skill to something less that elite level.

Does anyone know of anything non-Companion? Python and Companion have never worked right on my computer for whatever reason.

I linked the exe version for you. I have the exact same problem running python apps as well, so I use the exe, which works fine with the latest version.

Dwarf Companion does not work with my computer. Period. If I use the python it crashes my computer, and if I use the .exe it opens a page full of kanji and does nothing else. So, any other suggestions?

Wait, kanji?  How is a program with no calls for any languages other then English doing that?
I suspect foul play here.

I'm guessing it's kanji. Alot of it is actually just the odd little df symbols, but some of it is just weird stuff.
