I've never heard anything so insane as the original DF music track. It is an utterly hopeless melancholy, as if what you're doing makes no sense in the first place, and will ultimately destroy you and your entire civilization. When you first hear it, you don't know for sure, but you can feel that your doom was sealed hundreds of years ago.

Agreed! It's just sad there isn't more of it. Would be awesome if Toady were to create an entire album in that league. That would probably mean taking a break from programming for a long while, but IMO that would be worth it just as much

I really like playing tundra/taiga maps and listening to Summoning. A Melodic Blackmetal band which base all their songs on Tolkiens universe. Pretty slow music with a desolate atmosphere.
