The Dwarven Song
Es war mal ein häßlicher, uralter Zwerg,
der kam aus ‘nem Reiche, tief unten im Berg,
der Zwerg war nicht schön, denn er war ziemlich fett
und zu andern Leuten war er gar nicht nett.
Once upon a time, there was a ugly and ancient dwarf.
he was from the area, deep under the mountain
the dwarf wasnt beauty, cause he was damly fat
and to other people, he wasnt very nice.
Sein Bart war echt riesig, rot flammte sein Haar
Und ständig besoffen dieser Zwerg war,
dann gröhlte er sauer: "Ja wo samma denn hier?
Ich will mehr Met und mehr Wein und mehr Bier!"
His beard was real huge, red flamming his hair,
and this dwarf was drunk all times,
then angryly he shouts: "whats going on here?
i want more met and more whine and more beer!"

Der Zwerg, er soff Bier, er soff Wein, er soff Met,
dass soviel Gesöff in ‘nen Zwergen reingeht
das konnt keiner glauben, d’rum forschte man nach
und so kam die schreckliche Wahrheit zutach!
The dwarf, he drunk beer, he drunk whine, he drank met,t
that this much of drinks in a dwarf has place
noone could believe, so they started to exploret
and so the terribly truth comes to light!
Das Zeug nämlich, so ein Magier rausfand,
durch ein Loch in ihm in den Limbus verschwand,
der Zwerg aber sagte: "Ja, seid ihr denn bleed?
Gebt mir mehr Bier und mehr Wein und mehr Met!"
The thing, some mages got out,
in a void into the Limbus got (( Limbus is name of demon the dimension in the german pen&paper "Das Schwarze Auge" ))
the dwarf just says: "are you all stupid?
give me more beer, more whine and more met!"

Da sprach eine Hexe: "Wir beenden sein Leiden,
ganz einfach indem wir den Bart ihm abschneiden!"
Der Zwerg aber sagte: "Wer den Bart mir rührt an,
der war für die längste Zeit mal ein Mann!"
A Witch then says: "We stop his suffering, (( in the p&p witches are charming woman, not the old and (mostly) ulgy ones, maybe witch is the wrong translation, but its word-by-word correct for "Hexe" ))
easily by cutting of his beard!"
The dwarf just says: "Who touches my beard,
was for longest time a man!"
Da zückte die Hexe selber das Messer,
doch das hätte sie gelassen mal besser!
Den der Zwerg, der schenkt ihr so richtig eine ein
Und schrie: "Gebt mir mehr Met und mehr Bier und mehr Wein!"
The Witch then takes the knife for herself,
but better she havent done that!
The dwarf, he punches her really hard
and shouts: "Give me more met, more beer and more whine!"

Ein Cavalliero sprach: "Ja so geht das nicht!
Dass Du eine Frau schlägst, elender Zwergenwicht!
So nimm diesen Stich!" – und zu er dann stach,
doch der Zwerg seinen Krug überm Kopf ihm zerbrach.
A Cavalliero says: "that you cant do!
to hurt a woman, miserable dwarven midget!
so take this cut!" - and he stings into the dwarf,
but the dwarf only breaks the jug on his head
Da war der Mann hin, doch der Krug war es auch,
da hatte der Zwerg vielleicht eine Wut im Bauch!
Doch dann schob er den Zapfhahn einfach in den Mund sich rein:
"So krieg ich mehr Met und mehr Bier und mehr Wein!"
the man was broke down, but the jug was it too,
the dwarf got really in rage and mad! ((better translation.. because "rage in the belly" sounds a bit stupid i think, just a phrase))
but then he took the tapping cock into his mouth:
"so i get mor met, more beer and more whine!"

Der Zwerg hing am Bierfaß, da sprach der Herr Baron:
"Das ist kein Problem, hah, den kriegen wir schon!"
Er rief seine Garde und sagte nur: "Faß!"
Und die sollten holen das Zwerglein vom Faß.
The dwarf was on the beer barrel, then the baron speaks:"
"That is no problem, hah, we will get him!"
He shouts for his guard, and only says: "Bite!" (( Bite is maybe wrong, "Fass" is the german command for a dog to attack someone ))
They should get the dwarf from the barrel.
Da hat der Zwerg die Garde verdroschen,
gab auch dem Barönchen bös auf die Goschen
und als man ihn später in den Kerker war rein
schrie er: "Ich will mehr Met und mehr Bier und mehr Wein!"
Then the dwarf kicked out the guard,
and also punched the baron hard.
and then they throw him into the prison"
he shouts: "i want more met, more beer and more whine!"

Der Zwerg saß im Kerker, oh es war ein Graus!
Denn der Zwerg wurde nüchtern hielt vor Wut es kaum aus
Und als man ihn führte auf das Schafott,
da haute er laut fluchend den Galgen zu Schrott!

And then they take him to the scaffold,"
he destroyed the gallows swearing aloud.
Danach traute keiner sich an ihm mehr ran,
so ging zurück zum Wirtshaus der Zwergenmann,
er pflanzte sich hin, schrie: "Hey, ich bin wieder hier!
So gebt mir mehr Met und mehr Wein und mehr Bier!"
Then noone dared to get back to him,
so he goes back to tavern the dwarven man,
he sits down, shouts: "Hey, i am back!
so give me more met, more whine and more beer!"

Der Zwerg war eine Plage, drum sich die Magier trafen,
gemeinsam den Zwerg sie in den Limbus reinwarfen,
da kamen die Dämonen und wollten ihn fressen,
doch der Zwerg sprach: "Jungens! Das könnt ihr vergessen"
the dwarf was some plague, so the mages mets somewhere,
together they throw the dwarf into the limbus,
there come some demons and wanted to eat him,
but the dwarf only says: "Guys! that you can forget"
"Ich will jetzt was trinken!" – doch im Limbus gabs nix!
Der Zwerg, der tobte, das sei wohl ein Witz
Dann schlug er die Dämonen einfach kurz und klein
Und schrie: "Gebt mir mehr Met und mehr Bier und mehr Wein!"
"I want something to drink!" - but in the Limubs was nothing!
the dwarf, he raved, that must be a joke
Then he kicked all demons into pieces
and shouts: "Give me more met, more beer and more whine!"

Der Zwerg ist noch heute in den Limbus verbannt,
vom Volk wird er "der Suffdämon" nun auch genannt,
beschwören kann den Zwergen-Dämonen man auch wohl,
man braucht nur eins und das ist Alkohol!
The dwarf is still banished into the limbus,
from the folks he is called "the drunk dämon",
you can summon the dwarven demon too,
all you need is just one, and this is alcohol.
Der Zwerg tut dem Beschwörer dann auf den Kopfe schlagen
Und der darf mit nem dicken Schädel sich dann plagen
So trinkst Du viel Met und viel Bier und viel Wein,
wird am nächsten Tag das Zwerglein bei Dir sein!
The Dwarf then knocks the summoners head,
and they have a hurtful head all day
so if you drink much met, much beer and much whine,
on the next day, the dwarf will be near you!
