What I'm curious about is how you handle your skillpoints.
And where you would suggest to put them in as a pianist.
Can I dump all of them in negotiation?
performance?

If you want to do anything regarding gods, dump them in faith until you hit 40.

Why so?

I am considering the gardening god.

AFAIK, it is pretty much impossible to raise your faith skill any other way, but that might have changed. At 40, you can store enough favor to get all the god gifts, so thats all you need.

That would be a waste, my level 10 pianist last time had 20 from dreams only.

Pretty much the same here. Faith raise a lot during sleep, like healing and meditation. However, after a while the potential drop so low that it really could use a bit a investment. Since by this time the cost in platinum coins has increased, dumping a few skillpoints isn't a bad idea IMHO.

It depends too much on your play style. Are you usually in the front smashing, slashing and butchering mobs? Then priorize combat skills, mining (for constitution), anatomy+cooking (for attribute gain from eating corpse).

Or are you rather staying behind a wall of pets shooting, throwing and casting? Defense and whatever ranged/magic skills you use should get the priority, riding so that you can stay out of melee range.

Maybe you are instead a pacifist, avoiding combat as much as humanly (whatever that means in Elona) possible and letting pets do the needed but dirty work for you? Then dump points into defensive skills, performer (to make $), negotiation (to get the most out of your $ and to make even more $), investing (to avoid wasting $), gardening (some $, but mostly good for attribute/items/food), riding (easier to be a pacifist when you move faster than the enemy  ;) ) and either some casting/literacy skill or magic device to get yourself out of trouble.

Or you can go for a mix. A quick riding claymore wielding fighter that slash than retreat, a heavy armored shotgunner, a nimble beer thrower supported by caster pets, a brute wielding a scythe supported by a pantie-throwing bell or a Kill Kill Piano hurling performer.

The choice is yours and I couldn't give suggestions without also suggesting a playstyle. Elona has too much to offer to accept cookie cutter builds. The whole interest of the game IMHO is experimenting with different style... and yes that includes the ones that just can't work  ;D

P.S. I just decided the next character I play will be a beer-thrower, supported by a pantie throwing bell and a scythe wielding quickling  :D

When I was a level 1 mutant, my little girl drew water from the fountain, and obtained a wish. I wished for 7LB, which really kick ass. Now, I have somehow stumbled into a wand of wishing.

What should I get?

I suggest you hold onto that wand until you've got your magic device WAY up, otherwise you'll waste the charge.

I suggest evolution or maybe a speed ring.

If you find yourself doing a lot of escort/delivery missions, an aurora ring will keep you going even when it's raining hard.

If you can't access the king's bed in Palmia for whatever reason, you can wish for a "Happy Bed" at your home. That'll help your stat potential and hopefully get better dreams.

A semi-good item i occasionally wish for when i already have Seven League Boots is a Vindale cloak, which protects from the etherwind. It's really helpful when you forget everything about the date.

(Blessed) potions of evolution are insane. I've only managed to find one so far but I must've got six or so mutations out of it. Some of the etherwind mutations must be helpful to a lot of builds in the later game as well - providing you've got the right ones, of course.

I haven't managed to reliably get a spellcaster running yet, but I did get an idea from the Let's Play thread about making a Lich Warrior or Claymore, and it turned out really well - having a good natural Will/Learning score definitely helps, especially in the early game, and I might be able to get some basic spellcasting running later on. The only weak spots are not being able to do enough damage very early on due to lack of strength (being a Claymore helps here, for obvious reasons) and awful Charisma, which really is a terrible loss.

I assume that passive faith boosts only kick in while you're actually following a god...?

If anyone is having trouble getting lots of cash in the early game, do the "Before it's too late!" jobs. At level 1 I can easily run from Port Kapul to Derphy or Vernis to Yowyn within 2 days (which seems to be the minimum quest time limit), netting 2500-5000 gold and platinum coins every run.

Good call. I would've ragequitted and savescummed so hard if I wasted the charge.

I think I'll probably get the speed or evolution. I'll see once I'm out of the newb dungeons.

Also, whatever happened to wishing for recharge scrolls? Doesn't Elona give stacks of scrolls on wish, or is that just potions?

What are "little balls" for? I picked up a couple and after identification, it says they're precious.
