I think we're just asking to see screenshots, since we don't plan to download it (or don't plan to yet).

All the source games I know of have a screenshot command which outputs a .tga file to a folder buried in "steam\steamapps\(username)\(gamename)\(gameacronym)\screenshots". The default key is usually F5, and you can change it in the options menu.

You can convert/edit .tga files with a program such as the GIMP.

Not sure if it's just because I took these in GMod 9 or not, but the files were output as .jpg.

Sorry, that's about as interesting a shot as I could take. Plus, GMod crashes at anything higher than 640x480 on my machine.

Whoa, someone's been a victim of anti-virus FUD.

Repeat after me:  Executable code, outside of an executable file, will not be executed unless it's specifically pushed onto the stack.

Doesn't matter where it's stored, in a picture, in a sound file, whatever - unless it relies on a buffer overflow from which ever application reads the data stream or relies on said stream being intercepted by a malicous program already running on the system in question to execute it, that bunch of 0 and 1s is not going to be run, even if it is potentially executable.

If you think someone would launch a buffer overflow attack against the Source client (assuming any such exploits exist) on the Dwarf Fortress forums then you're seriously, seriously over-paranoid.  Not exactly prime hunting grounds for the idiosyncrasy in question.  And, if you have malicious programs running on your system already, waiting to execute that 'hidden' data,  you're in the shit long before you came here and saw this.

Still, as Capntastic said, I was sarcastic.  Not everyone knows the risks, and a policy of avoidance can only be a good thing if you're a bit bamboozled by the reality of the situation.
