Ok, most of my skills are still decent, and all my required equipment was on my person on logout.  My house is looted and destroyed and all that remains is my forge and mine, but oh well.

Who do I talk to to find out where yer located?

Oh yea, name's Greiger.

Alrtight, i havent played for more than 10 minutes because i didnt want to get too far into it if i was wasting my time without premium, but if you think it's still worth it ill start playing. My msn's messed up so i cant use that, just PM me. Just a few questions:
-does everyone have premium. I dont want to be useless.
-What will make this town succeed where copperblazes failed. We need a plan or it'll all just fall apart.

Ok, I'm not in newtown though, I'm off to the west, near old Bearback mountain.  I'm gonna be heading towards newtown once I have some food prepared.

I got;
some metal and leather armor, a greatsword, two pelts, some cotton, a fishing rod, and misc carpentry, metalworking, and masonry tools.

for skills I have 30 carpentry, 21 woodcutting and mining, 23 pickaxe.

I have premium, but I worked with people that don't. People without premium can still be very useful, in my opinion.  As far as I remember you only really need one or two premiums to do stuff like knock down fences and things.

HELPS ON THE WURM.

Premium/Non-premium. The only difference between prem and not prem is a skill cap of 20. This means you cannot

Destroy roads, fences, and buildings
dig on or build on very steep slopes or plan very large buildings
improve things past 25 easily. You'll need premium-made tools to get it higher.
kill a lot of the hard enemies.
I've played for months without premium, most of my main skills are at 20 now. I'm still very useful and can do awsome stuff, like mah 3X3 house and a giant patch of flat land I terraformed, and mah ramp and so forth and whathaveyou. Premium is more of a "Help rolf and get benefits" than "PAY OR YOU SUCK".

Communication

Type /t (name) to private message someone
you can only add people to friends if you can physically see them, but all friends are for right now is adding them to your house so they can use it.
The game will automatically save everything you hear in a text file where you installed wurm.
Type /dev to talk to all the GMs and CMs. This is useful if you're trapped in a noobtrap or stuck in a bug.
Type /stuck if you're stuck in something, it might get you out.

The cute lil animals

STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING OUTLINED IN RED

Until you get a weapon, you can be killed by a chicken. When you have a weapon, you can be killed by pretty much everything else. If you can find a guard tower or spirit guard, you can make an animal follow you over there until said guard kills it.
CROCODILES ARE DEMONS OF MISERY AND PUNISHMENT. THEY SWIM.
SCORPIONS ARE SLOW BUT ALSO DEMONS OF MISERY AND PUNISHMENT. THEY DONT SWIM.
TROLLS EAT GRENADES FOR FUN. THEY ARE FAST. THEY DO NOT SWIM.
SPIDERS MAKE BIKER GANGS CRY. THEY DO NOT SWIM.
DOGS ARE CYOOOT =D. You can tame them with meat.
WOLVES ARE NOT SO CUTE. THEY WILL EAT YOUR FINGERS.
The older an animal is, the harder it is. animals age from
young->adolescent->mature->aged->old->venerable
They also sometimes get modifiers like 'fierce' or 'diseased'. These make em harder. You'll see stuff like "Adolescent slow huge spider" a lot.

lols I is not moving halp

Weight in wurm is pretty realistic. You shouldn't have more than 60KG.
Don't pick up logs, fur, planks, tar, dirt, or hides unless you know you need them. Also make sure the climbing button on the bottom right isn't white. Click it if it is. If you're hurt you will also slow down (stupid, annoying feature)

Alright, I slapped down a forum for the settlement, so we can branch out discussion without clogging up the Bay12 one.
http://bay12wurm.proboards83.com/index.cgi?board=wurm

I put up a poll there about an offer we got to move and merge the settlement with someone else's. It's a matter of votes, so make yours count.

Damned thing keeps failing the updates, I looked on the forums for help and immediately got a sour taste in my mouth. I don't want to have to do all that crud to get the broken updater fixed, well, not today...

I might join if my character is still around(lasst played months ago)

I was trying to join copperblazes, but it had already died, and when I could join it, I died and appeared in newtown WITHOUT A SHOVEL.
I went back and eventually rebuilt my tools, and tryed to start my own cave that would have been a ramp up the inside of a steep cliff, but an enemy invaded and I couldn't get a good meal, so I haven't played in a long time.

On the other hand, I have some tools and such and could *survive* a walk back from copperblazes.
