Idea based on new ddev log

With the whole adding tissue layers as a creature grows, like growing a beard, couldn't we make things grow whole new limbs and such?  We could almost have larvae and adult creatures that are nearly nothing alike.  Anyone else think of this or think of it and decide it wouldn't work?

dwarves that start off as a torso containing all major organs and attached beard... evolves into Dwarf!!

It's alright Davion, it's alright... We'll get over the fail and learn to embrace even the tiniest amounts of epic, such as the fact that the caterpillar has built in angry-dwarf eyebrows, and that it needs no socks, hence no suicide-death-rushes during the siege.
