Yay! I exist! I also get to be a parasite on society until I grow old enough to become a mindless drone!

You and everyone else almost kicked the bucket at the same time, as will be reflected in the next post (I'm compiling more material as these 3-4 sentence posts are kind of disappointing and redundant). I began filling the lowest level with magma and something happened I was not expecting. Dwarves rushed in to start cleaning up after it. I disabled cleaning before anyone jumped into an inescapable situation. I then locked the area off. That would have been a short fortress.

Aye, that is a problem.  I've lost many a stupid good dwarf to that.

The legend of Skullcrusher Mountain and The Abyssal Town:

The pipe failed to fill the area carved out for the first obsidian chambers, they were forced to release the water early, and wait for the pipe to refill, and the water to drain. Meanwhile 3 more children were born to Atelel, two girls and a boy. Fireheart and Duke decided to get married and shortly there after Imp and Alburd followed in kind.

I'll add myself to the list of "dwarves yet to be born"... Named Shoruke, gender is irrelevant, obsessed with making alcohol. And then drinking it, of course.

Can I get a soon to be Dwarf?

His/Her name will be Hat. If possible, train him/her to be a mason then eventually engraver.

New update coming soon, we have a number of newborn dwarves. Sorry if updates are slow for a bit, this season kills productivity.
Now I'm off to do more x-mas stuff. *grumbles*

Oooh, I'd like a dwarf when another child becomes available! Name it 'Gneiss' if a boy or 'Mica' if a girl. Have him/her focus on mining/masonry/engraving when he/she reaches adulthood.

I need to try a sealed off fortress at some point. My last attempt at a generational fortress ended badly when I sent the dwarves out (under guard) to get some trapped goats for breeding. Three ambushes sprang up at once and slaughtered everyone. :(
