Most Epic artifact EVER
« on: December 06, 2008, 02:16:33 am »

A limestone statue with the entire history of the world on it was created in my latest fort. My miner got possesed and started grabbing stone... LOTS of stone, after about a year he had collected most of the stone on the map and I thought it was just a bug and he was never going to stop, then all of a sudden I get the message 'Miner has begun a mysterious construction', wheb he finished I was amazed, he turned thirty pages of stone, ores, shells and bars into one super statue, when it was created the game froze for like 10 seconds just to spit out the history. Unfourtuanatly I lost my broker so I dont know its value... but I'm gonna guess its somewhere in the trillions...

The save for the artifact is here, if possible someone with dwarf companion (I cant get it working) could create a broker with the appraisal skill and tell us all the value - http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=710

I'm sad I can't scroll that picture right now.

How did he find the space for all this stuff? Do you need to use a microscope?

It's a statue. There's plenty of space for 2-square-inch engravings or details on it.

That's one determined soul to do all that work  :o  and I wouldn't say trillions, but easily into hundreds of millions, maybe billions of dwarfbucks. If that guy seriously went more than a season doing all that, I'm surprised he didn't snapped, haven't had any dwarves in moods last more than around a season! (Granted, I locked them up out of lack of avaliable resources, go figure )

3,105,600

not what I expected. Maybe the multiplier glitched out. The game sure did.

Coming to this thread, I was completely expecting the title to be an overstatement. But holy mother of Armok, that's the single most awesome thing I have ever seen in Dwarf Fortress history!

That thing is massive. Well not in size, but just look at that list for crying out loud!

[violet]!  That is amazing!

Probably should be mentioned in the bugs forum, though.  It doesn't seem likely that an artifact with that many materials is intended.

'Tis linked in the first post.

i was expecting the typical admantine axe which urist mcdwarf slayed 10,000 goblins with.

this is wayy better. Dont ever lose that save. Might be the single coolest artifact ever created by a dwarf. He is like..a celebrity man ;). Probs was a possesed dwarf too right ;)
