Asclepios must be sober.
« on: December 09, 2008, 06:32:48 pm »

We had a pretty bad raid a few years back, a lot of people got injured, but I never noticed how bad this poor bastard had it. Seriously, he has NO THROAT. but he's still alive.

Thank armok he's in a coma. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if he was conscious to feel THAT.

Bah, he still has two limbs. Wuss.

(Yeah, unconscious immortality is a semi-known bug. Cool though.)

I had a siege engineer who lost his entire right arm(to the Shoulder) once.  I nicknamed him "Leftie", in the hopes that I could eventually turn him into a singularly deadly person, but he never woke up.

Only vaguely. Made of the same substance and put to the same use, but a bit like comparing a castle and a doublewide trailer.

It's too bad you can't cauterize amputated limbs so the pain would eventually go away. Just imagine the possibilities! if you worked hard enough, you could probably have a floating head dwarf!

If we throw in prosthetics, it becomes even more amazing. imagine  a dwarf with a peg leg and a hook for a hand... now name him "Urist the pirate", now let the good times roll.

I also realized this when I visited the local Genghis Khan exhibit today.  Go figure.  I'm just going to have to keep out of "so who do you think is hottest" conversations from now on.

"Oh, me?  Well, you know... that one professor.  Yeah, he's probably 60, whatever.  And Genghis Khan.  Er..."

According to the devlog for recent developments, the body system is getting a massive retooling; severing ought to be a little less frequent than flesh wounds and the like, and he phantom pain problem is being addressed.

...but he never woke up.

 :'(

That wasn't a gentle way of saying he's dead. It just means he is sleeping forever.

We build forts inside active volcanoes. We don't need metaphors to say dwarves are dead.
