I've heard that despite the premise, the show is so self aware of how crap it is that it loops around to great.

Any somewhat relaxing to watch animes you guys would recommend?
By that I mean simply Slice of Life, similar to Gin no Saiji and Flying Witch.
And please, none of that fan service-y stuff (you know what I'm talking about).
I just want to watch a down-to-earth feel-good kind of anime.

I found the art and day-to-day sequence to be very relaxing and human. Sure it had a bit of drama going on, but when they weren't in battle, it was a pretty relaxing SoL.

It's a SoL that has overcoming PTSD as a core theme, I'm not sure any amout of nice visuals and atmosphere can completely get away from that. But YMMV I guess, it's a great show mind, just not something I'd reccommend as an easy, relaxing ride for the most part.

Well, relaxing, it has the SoL stuff, but it's also gorgeous and well worth the watch, Yuri/Hibike are more along the lines of what they were thinking. Incidentally it's Yuri the name, not Yuri the uh... genre.
