A few things I've picked up:

How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift?
A educational type anime, it teaches about workout options and benefits and guides you through bodyweight exercises you can do at home. It seems like a lot of people like it, but I found it weaker on entertainment value; the storylines and characters don't stand out. Some people may also find it distasteful on fanservice grounds, the main male character is basically eye candy and he's always out of his clothes multiple times per episode. As for female characters, you see about as much as you'd expect at a typical gym, aside from the anatomical interludes which illustrate which muscle groups the episode is focusing on.

Machikado Mazoku is a Kirara adaptation. If you've seen any of those before, you pretty much know what to expect. It's actually quite serious and story heavy by those standards but only by those standards. It's still basically character-driven cute comedy, it's just that it also has a story. I enjoy it, but I always enjoy Kirara stuff.

Granbelm is a much more serious show that also is kind of a magical girl show but not really. It has good combat and pretty good drama, if you're into that. The story is basically "Grail war but with mecha", but still, the devil is in the details and these details are handled reasonably well. The mecha designs are aesthetically not cool at all though (way wider than they are tall was a poor choice), which is a shame because their concepts are top tier.

Maou-sama Retry, like Machikado, is what you'd expect. It's a generic isekai about a powerful guy who has some adventures and meets cute girls along the way. It's a particularly fun one though, each episode feels half as long as it is. In every individual aspect (characters, story, worldbuilding, VA, animation) I'd say it's noticeably above average for the genre. It still fails to stand out, but it's a nice comfort food type anime. I'd recommend it over Arifureta certainly I'm not watching that, but I read the first arc and a bit of the source material.

Lastly (so far) HenSuki is actually quite different from what I expected. Based on the premise, it sounds like a shitty high school harem comedy designed mostly to titillate, and indeed there's a harem and there's comedic moments and titillating moments, but as lot of it is drama too. More than I expected anyway, and the humor isn't zany at all; it's all stuff that's pretty believable to a high school experience. I do feel like the pace could be a bit faster though, and it's not much of a mystery show; if you're reasonably intelligent you'll likely realize every twist before the MC does. Still, it's fun watching each of the characters and wondering what's gonna be wrong with this one.

Astra lost in space seems like one of those "teens in an extra dramatic situation" shows that mostly appeal to teens, but also it's a pretty classic type of sci-fi and played pretty straight. I've only just started this one, though.

More coming as I watch more, probably.

Man, I see that and my stumpy mecha sense perks up, I go look and... they're chibi. They're chibi, SRW style mecha, upsized. That's what's going on there. Design is bloody straight out of one of the SD gundam games or somethin'.

Yeah, it really detracts from what would otherwise be, at the very least, among the top anime of the season.

I have caught up with Kaguya-sama manga and holy shit I am a new man.  No longer shall I rely on shonen manga to sate my hunger.  Romcom and slice of life is where its at.  Give me your cutest recommendations so I can spirit bomb my heart with them.

Slice of Life, huh? Try School Days, I hear it's a nice healing anime.

Also, not romcom, but Nichijou is King of SoL. This one's a serious suggestion
Lucky Star is also pretty damn good. As is Daily Lives of Highschool Boys if you don't want to see Cute Girls Doing Cute Things (tm).

Tis more a direct reference to late 80s/early 90s fantasy mecha kids show designs such as in Ryu Knight and Mashin Hero Wataru, which makes sense as the shows cinematography and a couple of its characters are pretty clearly inspired by 80s Sunrise mecha shows. I find it pretty charming personally since the intentional homage aspects of the show I've enjoyed a lot, and it gives it a decently unique identity and branding in the current era. Either way considering the obscurity of the studio behind Granbelm what they've done with the animation for these lil mechs has been shockingly impressive.

If you want the absolute cutest slice of life, you'd probably want stuff like Yuru Yuri, Kiniiro Mosaic and "is the order a rabbit?". This is modern next-gen cute, triple distilled with activated charcoal filter cute. But there are too many of this type to name. Nickname it "cute girls x thing" and that describes the genre pretty well. Saki is cute girls playing mahjong. Bakuon is cute girls riding motorcycles. etc. There's one about mountain climbing, another one about camping. etc. For a cute one with a bit more stuff going on, try Girls Und Panzer.

Sabagebu would be my #1 pick here, because it's fucking hilarious. It's about girls in a survival / airsoft gun club. It's about winning. It's about feeding your team mate to the crocodiles so that you can run away. The humor is more similar to Kaguya-Sama than the other ones I listed above.

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan is a slice of life about a guy at highschool with every psychic power imaginable, but he just wants to lead a normal life. But the real focus is on the many whackos he goes to school with. This show has a great set of side characters, who constantly cause problems forcing MC to use his powers. The main character more or less narrates with an internal monologue about how he despises pretty much everyone else he interacts with.

If we're just going for maximum cute here, check out Kirara shows. There are three publications from which those might be adapted which are, in order of age and (roughly) of prestige and quality, Kirara Carat, Kirara Max, and Kirara Forward. Two of those three listed are from Kirara Max, although Yuru Yuri is from a yuri-specialized publication.

I believe the original generic form from which those specific descriptors were derived is "cute girls doing cute things".

However, all that said, this kind of show by no means encompasses the entirety of cute slice of life. Kaguya is a pretty typical school slice of life and it's more about watching cute teen dumbness that's taken a bit over the top. From this season, for example, I would consider "Kawaikereba Hentai demo Suki ni Natte Kuremasuka?" (localized as "Hensuki: Are You Willing to Fall in Love with a Pervert, as Long as She's a Cutie?") as more equivalent than Machikado Mazoku, which is this season's Kirara showing. Kaguya is originally from Young Jump after all, a far less specialized magazine.

EDIT: This was posted before Reelya was done editing that post. The latter examples in it are not Kirara-centric either.

I guess Love Tyrant would qualify here too, but I don't think that one held up as well as the story progressed, it had a great start but ended up more generic. If the comedy had only held up to the first episode all the way through it could have been great.

EDIT: yeah you're right about the Kirara thing, I wasn't so familiar with those magazines. They definitely have a lot of the shows that did come to mind for max cuteness.

Another one that just came to mind is the Working! series. It scratches the slice of life, light romcom and random comedy itches pretty well.

Bearing in mind that I would not dispute a claim that I have terrible taste, here's a random slice of shounen/seinen romcoms/slice of life that I enjoy(ed):

Seishun Forget! : Girl forgets everything that happened the previous day overnight, unless it was especially fun. Boy falls in love with her at first sight, she agrees to go out with him, shenanigans ensue as he attempts to make her actually remember him.

Suki x Suki : Girl has massive crush on boy, too embarrassed to do anything but blow him off. Gains the power to turn invisible (and is no longer embarrassed while invisible), but he can still see her. Shenanigans ensue when she doesn't realise he can see her, but he refuses to tell her because it would be too embarrassing. Very shounen-y, I wouldn't swear to it being any kind of objective "good", but it's fun.

Pashiri na Boku to Koisuru Banchou (The Lackey and the Delinquent Leader in Love) : Delinquent boss girl asks severely bullied boy out, he (completely legitimately) mistakes it as an order to be her errand boy. Shenanigans ensue.

Senryuu Shoujo: Girl only communicates through 5/7/5 poetry. Boy looks like a delinquent, but has reformed in the name of poetry. Slice of life shenanigans ensue. Currently pretty popular, partly thanks to the anime adaptation.

Tonikaku Kawaii (Fly Me to the Moon) : Girl saves boy from being killed by truck. Boy falls in love, asks girl out. Girl agrees on condition he marry her, vanishes. Two years later, reappears, they get married, shenanigans ensue. May cause mild diabetes.

The genre is not exactly starved for content, it's usually just a question of filtering out the incredibly generic/good but uninspired works from the rest, or finding less mainstream ones that you like better*. I also don't really have a record of most of the completed series I've read, since I tend to tear through most of them too quickly to need to bookmark them. >_>

* This list doesn't really have any conventional "harem" stuff, for instance, because I personally dislike it. It's a biased list. :P

Seishun Forget! : Girl forgets everything that happened the previous day overnight, unless it was especially fun. Boy falls in love with her at first sight, she agrees to go out with him, shenanigans ensue as he attempts to make her actually remember him.

This is a genre now. based on my rule that three shows = a genre. There's also:

ef: A tale of memories (anime, originally a visual novel). Girl only remembers the last 13 hours.
one-week friends (anime, originally a manga). Girl only remembers one week at a time. So guy has to re-friend her each Monday.
BTW looks like Seishun Forget! is a manga, at least for now.

It's very specific, which is why it's a trope. It's always a guy interacting with a girl who has the memory loss. Even the movie "50 first dates" works the same way. They never make one about a girl chasing a guy with amnesia.

There was another one I haven't watched yet, but plan to, with what I thought was a similar premise, but it's a bit different, more groundhog day.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/34102/Sakurada_Reset
In this one, there's a guy who has a special ability to remember everything, and the girl has a special ability she can reverse time by three days. So, it's still: the guy remembers, the girl doesn't. It's similar with Stein's;Gate or Groundhog day actually: the guy remembers the loops, the girl doesn't. So these are different to the amnesia-girl ones, but the similarity is that it's a guy who remembers, and there's at least one female love interest who always forgets.

Gender-reversed versions of this trope are very rare, although one that comes to mind is Haruhi's Endless Eight, in which Yuki, who is an alien artificial lifeform remembers the loops, while nobody else does.

I should note that I have no idea about anime adaptations, these are purely based on the manga. I don't watch a lot of anime, for one reason or another. Mostly it's easier to fit reading a bit of manga in around my schedule than watching anime.

Edit to respond to edit:

They never make one about a girl chasing a guy with amnesia.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a shoujo manga out there with that premise. If there isn't, there should be; it sounds like cash.

(E again: phrasing)

Nichijou is King of SoL. This one's a serious suggestion

Absurdist SoL is the one true genre.
Somehow I came across a reddit thread which basically lists out every single one of these, so in order from most to least ecchi:

Chio's School Road
+Tic Neesan (the whole season is 30 minutes and on youtube)
Danshi koukosei no nichijou
Asobi Asobase (heartwarming 0/5)
Hinamatsuri (heartwarming 5/5)
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (maximum romance trope subversion)
Nichijou

Also people reccomended Teekyu and noucome but I haven't seen them

I had to look up Noucome to be reminded of it. I have seen it but I'd recommend that as a "skip" anime, as it has a weak premise and cliched characters, typical ecchi scenarios. It also goes nowhere. not really worth starting. (EDIT: the full title is "My Mental Choices Are Completely Interfering With My School Romantic Comedy", which seems similar to "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected". Except the latter is actually a good show that should be recommended).

Teekyu is completely different, it's pure absurd and very unique. I'd highly recommend that one. Might take a while to sync into the very weird humor. Ai Mai Mi is a similar, short form one, which is also batshit insane.

EDIT: Here's a sample of Ai Mai Mi (3.5 minutes per ep)
