It's been forever since I've last seen Lain, I don't recall the plot exactly, but it was definitely a weird show. I believe I watched it first as a teen on Adult Swim, but AS was very bad about showing episodes in order, so I had literally no clue what was up with this show. Watching it again in sequential order when I finally had access to the internet, I could KINDA make out what the show was even ABOUT. It definitely struck me as one of those big brain shows that makes you want to think, even if the only thing that stuck with me afterwards was how good its opening was.

I saw the 1985 one and the 2000 one. Don't think there's any others, though there was talk of a tv show adaptation that got postponed to production hell during covid

I just finished Lain and feel I've only understood half of the ending, yet this was about as much as the creators intended for people to understand. I like mysteries so for me this is a positive, but it's not that narratively satisfying.
All in all it was 13 episodes made out of the same stuff that made the last Eva episodes so juicy. This classic is very approachable time-wise, mind-wise less so.

Ash Ketchum is finally the very best!

Haven't watched it in at least 15 years, but it's making me feel weirdly fuzzy inside. Maybe I need to give it a bit of a nostalgia binge.

There's speculation that it might be the end of him as a protagonist. The final episode's called something like Pokemon: I'm glad I chose you, which mirrors the first episode's name Pokemon: I choose you!

No way they'll completely end the series, it's far too much of a cash cow.
