You laugh at the failures, not their success right?
The Fullmetal alchemist dub is pretty decent, and thats not a joke.
Let see. He's not an evil genius but a teenager and as far as i remember not many plans fails nor due to him hurting someone, but rather that he freezes up in a critical moment because someone got hurt or that he tries to think of a way to prevent something.
Oh, its not as simple as Lelouch 'freezing up' or 'stopping to think', its that he does blatantly stupid things. Lemme try to remember how bad Lelouch fucked up at certain points, its been awhile since i saw the series.
i'll put it in spoiler tags, just outta courtesy. Fer people that haven't seen the series, i'll spoil alot for you, so beware.
Alright, Lelouch is an evil genius, it is his aim to:
1) Secure a safer and better world for his Sister Nunnally.
2)Bring ruination to his father and all of Brittania out of revenge for the death of his mother, the crippling of his sister, and the disownment of his father.
Why is he an Evil genius? the moment he obtains his Geass to control the minds of others, his mission to fulfull those two goals begins immediately, and Lelouch is willing to kill and deceive many innocent people to fulfill these goals.
His plans are very good, being a master strategist, but Lelouch is also very arrogant, and initially believes that no one is as good a strategist as he is. This leads to his first fuck-up where Princess Cornelia almost finds him out while he attempts to infiltrate a Brittanian base. If it weren't for C.C. showing up at the last moment to bail him out by distracting Cornelia's forces, Lelouch would have been fucking dead right there.
From their on, Lelouch is pretty much untouchable as far as his planning is concerned. In fact, the ONLY thing capable of thwarting his plans is the Lancelot (piloted by Suzaku, his childhood friend). His plans are repeated thwarted by the lancelot, through no fault of Lelouch's planning (besides not compensating for the fact the Suzaku is the fucking best using pilot in the series) and he eventually learns that the lancelot is piloted by Suzaku.
Remember everyone, Suzaku is pretty much Lelouch's ONLY barrier between him and his goals. If he were gone, his plans would go off without a hitch 100% of the time.
This is where he starts getting stupid. Lelouch has the resources to assassinate Suzaku while he's defenseless, as he is still naive and unsuspecting of his friend Lelouch, but doesn't, because he's a pussy that wants to find a way to win without killing his best friend/worst enemy.
their are alot of incidents of Lelouch being stupid, but the one that stands out in my head the most is the one where his personal super scientist invents a special trap SPECIFICALLY MADE for immobilizing the Lancelot. Lelouch lures Suzaku into the trap easily, and could EASILY kill him. EASY EASY EASY! However, Lelouch gets into the trap with him, and then tries to convince the person who hates Zero's guts to join him. He doesn't even use his Geass to force him to obey him (which would have been the smart decision, and a damn good one), but no, Lelouch forgets that Suzaku is a masterful martial artist and gets close to him, where he then swipes Lelouch's gun and then holds him at gun-point as his buddies are about to megabomb the shit out of the place. Lelouch was asking for it really. If it weren't for his Geass and incredible dumb luck, he would never have gotten out of that situation. However, because of that incident, he placed a Mind-control Geass of Suzaku that makes him a much more formidable opponent. It's outrageous, it really is.
Oh, and Suzaku gets caught in the immobilization trap a second time, where Lelouch again doesn't take the initiative to kill the only person capable of stopping him.
AND THAT'S JUST THE FIRST SEASON! The second season just brings the stupidity of Lelouch literally having a Geass-using super soldier at his disposal, and not abusing the hell out of it, he just lets him sit in his room apparently.
and no, you can't use the fact that Suzaku did eventually join up with Lelouch in the final couple of episodes to justify all that stupidity.
So their, Lelouch is a pussy genius the likes never before seen on this planet before. I really enjoy Lelouch's character, but he's just too stupid to be one of my favorite characters.
Tell me about Utawarerumono, i've never seen it before.
