Yeah, it's more complicated than that. He was accused of being a serial killer's accomplice. But the serial killer is already dead. The actual murderer stopped the serial killer. (this isn't really a spoiler, you can get all that from episode 1, except not who the actual murderer was). So, you know, I couldn't really care which one ended up in prison TBH. It's like, would you be upset that someone who murdered Ed Gein or Hannibal Lector got away with it, and instead they pinned it on some creepy dude who thinks that people being turned into furniture is amusing? Not really.

Everyone in the show including the hero are terrible people. If you look at how the hero acts, he'd actually be a dangerous sociopath in real life. You'd feel safer if he got locked up.

Bit of a late question, but what motivated you guys to binge pervy anime?

Every now and then I read the first couple of chapters of an obvious ecchi-bait manga because either the premise is hilariously innovative, or it really isn't and I kinda want to watch the slow-motion trainwreck that is the story and characterisation. I rarely make it more than a chapter in before the novelty wears off.

For me it's either l am looking for an ecchi anime or that the description is so vague that I don't know that it's ecchi until I watch it.

So moral of the story, sometimes you find the ecchi and sometimes the ecchi finds you.

Either the plot hook, or something about the character design, generally, for myself. I stuck with the... testament of sister new devil, apparently... manga for a while mostly because some of the characters (mostly the loli succubus, but eh) made some pretty amusing faces, ferex. Then sometimes you run into something like Sora no Otoshimono or Nana to Kaoru and, like... it's okay. Occasionally I'll check something pervy out just to see how the writer's doing it -- what they're showing, what they're censoring, etc. It can be fun to check out what tricks they're turning playing on the presentation front. i think my favorite is still speech balloons with nipples, tbh, though hunter x hunter's rising text balloon was damnably effective

Metaphorical thirst doesn't generally play much into it, though. If I want porn I'll just... go scope porn. No need for psuedo-softcore when everything's basically equally accessible.

Also another one that doesn't get much mention:
https://myanimelist.net/anime/22865/Rokujouma_no_Shinryakusha
So that's what it was called. I am deeply ashamed to have enjoyed like three episodes of this and then lost the title.

I nibble at the best of times, but the same reason I poke non-pervy anime with a stick: Either it's got some interesting feature or premise it squanders immediately, or the constant unrelenting popularity counts as a feature I'm curious about.

Partially, I'm a completionist, and I have a big backlog of downloaded anime, and I don't want to be left with all the shitty ones, so I'm saving the better ones for later. Also, when I find a really boring anime in there I usually decide to skip it as unwatchable, whereas those ones which are bad because they have extremely pervy premises tend to be the ones that you go "oh shit did they really just go there?". So, there are shows I checked out in between those ones that I haven't mentioned because they turned out to be so boring i only watched one episode before skipping, along with some I did finish but didn't turn out to be that interesting so I'm not mentioning those either: bad animes with fairly normal premises aren't noteworthy.

Just found out that Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai has a movie coming to the US!

Also, even though it's an ecchi anime why do you have to make me cry .... bastards.

I don't think I'd count Bunnygirl Senpai as Ecchi. There's not nearly enough focus on titillation compared to other anime - I mean, look at Kill la Kill and the camera's early, obsessive focus on Ryuuko's butt, and compare it to how little focus the actual bunnygirl outfit gets in BGS.

Lol, might want to point that out in the post then. In context it definitely reads like it's talking about Bunnygirl Senpai.

Sorry, I shouldn't write when I'm about to go to sleep or just waking up. Still Bunny girl Senpai has one of my favorite lines in it. "I want to sandwich my head between your thighs."
