I had teleportation scrolls... I just didn't expect to be filled with crossbow bolt holes so fast.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Welp, got my 3 runes and have cleared Elf, Crypt, and the Dungeon. I've still got no rMut and only 1 potion of cure mutation. Unless I get lucky in Zot, orbs of fire are going to ruin my day :(

Only other place I could really still explore is the Abyss, and that's just not worth it

You can technically try Slime, since Shining eyes are somewhat rare, if you're feeling comfortable. Not really a recommended course of action, but the Abyss is definitely more mutation-y than Slime.

In other news, man I sometimes feel like a frontiersman. Just me, Zin, my trusty +11 Chain Mail of slaying and my whip of distortion. Ah, the good old days.

Thought about it, but i figured I would be better off just going into Zot and hoping for the best. Turns out I figured right, just got my first win! I did find another cure mutation pot, but I ended up only needing to chug one. Berserk + Antimagic makes short work of fire orbs :)

Congratulations! Wanna post your chardump so we can ogle?

Also god damn this is it, this is the worst game. First I spend like 2 hours abyssing every single opponent I see [turns out a +1/-3 whip of Distortion is not a good weapon for d17+, who'da thunk], then I decide to unwield it and spend all my consumables in the Abyss, and then I waste about 10 scrolls of Enchant Weapon II and 1 scroll of III to get my current weapon - a majestic +4 Great Mace of Crushing. I swear to god if the trunk version I'm using counts the stupid +5 damage on the armour as weapon enchant for the purpose of scrolling I will be so mad.

40 AC in early lair would've been so much funner if I didn't have to chase deathyaks all over the god damn level. Distortion is balls.

edit : Oh god I'm almost 100% sure the stupid thing is counting the armour's +damage bonus towards the Enchantment cap of my Great Mace...

re-edit : Yep, immediately after swapping the armour after 1 ench III and 1 ench II scroll I have a +5/+6 Great mace. What in the actual balls

Start a gurgle -> Heh, early game  8) -> Ettin Simulacrum/Zombie/Spectral Ettin/Plain Ole' Ettin -> Start a gurgle -> Heh, early game  8)

So a quick question. Since I'm going to have a total of +13 slaying in a second from my two randart rings, I can't get any resists from jewellery. Since I am a gargoyle, I need resists. Should I just give up on my dreams of cruising around in a Crystal plate and get me a GDA to compensate? One of the two rings has a rC+, but that's it.

I'll be really heartbroken if I can't fly around in a pure silver armour preaching the word of Zin, but I'd probably be a bit more heartbroken if I died in Zot for the fifth time today.

edit : welp, problem sort of fixed - a scroll of acquirement gave me a rF++ boots. Kind of unsure about dumping my boots of running, but seeing as how Sojobo nearly one-shot me with a bolt of fire [had 5 hp left from full], gonna roll like this for now.

MY main problem is I haven't really figured out when I should try to clear out any of the branches. My best char yet(a MiFi of the Shining One) just got murdered by an alligator in the swamp(granted, this WAS after taking out Nessos, a swamp dragon, a black mamba, and a vampire mosquito)

To elaborate, I managed to run Nessos out of arrows, and he happened to blink next to me, so I wasted him, then blinked to the stairs to heal up, then managed to stair dance the dragon to isolate him and destroy him. At this point I'm just about out of good healing items, so I probably should have gone back to the dungeon(I had cleared out the lair by this point) and taken on the orc mines for the guaranteed shops, but I decided if I took it slow I could atleast clear the second floor of the swamp this was taking place on. Que getting surrounded by the black mamba, mosquito, and alligator. I take out the mosquito and mamba no problem, but the alligator finishes me off
