I have two new favorite characters.

My old best character was a 3999 point kobold necromancer, and I beat that record with a 6327 point kobold necromancer:

And now I've fallen in love with demigods. They can't take gods, sure, but they have really high attributes and gain HP and MP like crazy. Here's my best demigod necromancer (2695 points):

My promising vampire gladiator just got a fatal dose of Sigmund. I managed to teleport away just in time, and then a scorpion killed me.

YAHOPr. Level 16. She's standing on top of the stairs to the Vaults with her retinue; I've never been in them before. In fact, this is the furthest I've ever gotten by a noticeable margin. So, should I plunge?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

(Doing the Snake Pit was a blast. The final fight for the rune on the fifth level was an epic battle, as evinced by the above kill stats; I brought in maybe 6 rather hulking knights, a priest, and two sorcerers, plus whatever demons and undead those last two brought with them. Against them stood an insane horde of naga. I kept getting teleported away from the battle, so I missed most of it; my retinue killed most of them but eventually succumbed while I was gone and licking my wounds. Maybe 7 naga survived. When I got back to the rune chamber, it was a veritable charnel house.)

So wish there was a PSP port, would make a great way to pass time on the bus. For now, I'm making do with POWDER mostly (The NetHack port has a totally arcane and hard to use interface with no manual that I could found)

Hey, you have Bolgrim.
What rank is he?
My best character, a HOPr called Song, had him as a bodyguard.
there ARE dragons in the vault.

I think I should had tried to use the ring of teleportation instead of trying to run to the stairs while berserk, but it was pretty much a certain death anyway, those shadow dragons REALLY hurt without life protection

Tell me about it...

Why the hell do I always get food when I'm a mummy? (I recently grew to love Mummy Chaos Knights) My last MuCK was wearing an (unidentified) amulet of the gourmand when he died!

Playing a Mountain Dwarf Chaos Knight is amusing. 'Worshiping' Xom is amusing. Particularly when you're completely surrounded by an ungodly number of horrible beasts in a wide open area, and he decides to send a monster that kills everything in one hit, and summons addition monsters to help it, to help you.

The vault isnt that cruel untill you reach the final level, on the higher levels there are just hordes of ogres, vampires, centaures and and a few dragons. However the final level is FULL of vault guards and dragons :-\

Xom loves me today for some reason. I have a Neqoxec that's been following me around for several floors now. He did give me a few horrible mutations upon starting the game though, such as the ability to Blink at will, and I occasionally decide to shout at the top of my lungs for no good reason, making everything in the dungeon seek me out.

Then he gave me an Orange Demon. And then we were all killed by a swarm of killer bees.

Yeah, Bees are evil. It's worth smoking them out of the hive for all that food, however.

Very first cab off the rank in the new 0.4.5

Not bad as my efforts tend to go.

Never seen a large shield before now, do want another.

All my stuff got wrecked by acidic slimes though, I must have triggered one spear trap about ten times for more spears for killing such slimes with, pity there is no large shield trap.

I think I found the platemail on the second level of the dungeon or
something. Pity about the ponderous nature of it.

And the wands were not ID'ed, I always ID potions and rings and stuff first. The ogre that killed him was preceeded by scorpions and giant ants.
