Bootfighter Windom XP SP-2 is a free giant mecha battle simulator game thing. It features giant robots, giant lasers, giant beam swords, big swarms of missiles, lots of giant robots, destructible cities, fun combat, and frenetic battles. There's no story, there's no plot, there's no reason why you're piloting mecha named after OSes blowing each other up.

You've got various modes ranging from survival, team battle, and a mode which pits two teams of giant robots, each with two massive super flying battleships with the objective of blowing the other team's battleships out of the sky.

Furthermore, the game lets you customize your own pilots and various taunts, messages and whatnot so you can fight Darth Vader as King Leonidas and shout "SPARTAAAAA!!!!" every time you unleash a final attack. It's really cool.

Lastly, there's multiplayer.

I've played this before, it's cool, but the version I got didn't have sound. I thought it was funny how all the mecha were named after OS's

I believe it's been fixed in a recent patch. Not too sure though.

I like to play with Pyro as my pilot. Flying around going "MMMMMRPGHHH MRHG MRHGM RMRHR MRMMM!!!" as missiles fly out of every orifice.

Reminds me of Silver Knights and another mech arcade game I played in Japan... they have millions of these things. It was pretty fun getting stomped by little japanese kids.  ;D

Maybe I'll try it later.

It's actually very similar to Silver Knights and Virtual-on. So similar that it might as well be called a clone with various popular mecha stolen from various popular series. It's also free. Japan has very lax copyright infringement standards.
