But they don't like the sun! (Dwarven deity)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Ara Cometcontrols the Sport of Sparks was a deity that occurs in the myths of The Frilly Citadel. Aran was most often depicted as a male bat and was associated with the sun, light, rainbows and the sky.

Could be the evil devil/bad guy (heh bat guy) in that dwarven pantheon. ?

I really, really tried to think up something witty to say about that, but I just couldn't. It sort of defys comprehension.

When you think about it, it's no wonder that the dwarves are so... Dwarven, when they have deities like these.

Vutu- Skeletal female human. Associated with blight, disease, deformity, scholarship and wisdom. Is it just me, or do those last two not quite fit?
You'd be surprised at how you can justify these things. Perhaps in this culture the weak and sickly cannot fight, and so are directed to study? These deformed ones are thus studious and wise.

Guz Coastalcreature the Drool of Nightmares, a female dwarf deity associated with depravity, lust, fishing and fish. Those lustful depraved dwarf fishermen!
Ever see the old woodcut "the Dream of the Fisherman's Wife"?

I just saw this thread and decided to take a look at the deities of my newest fortress.  Most are disappointingly reasonable, but one is just frighteningly appropriate:
Quote
Asol Bitematched the Seizure of Blazes is a deity of The Urns of Patterning.  Asol most often takes the form of a female dwarf and is associated with chaos, war, fortresses, volcanos and mountains.
A full third of my surviving dwarfs worship this particular deity.  Is it an omen?  I sure hope so!

So it turns out that dumping magma on skeletons is either a really bad idea or maybe like the best idea ever.

Quite frankly, I think that Asol Bitematched the Seizure of Blazes IS pretty much the whole of DF in a nutshell. Asol can stand next to Armok any day.

I wish I had Asol in my fortress.

He? God of Dwarf Fortress is hermafrodit? I am not sure if this will be good for luring more players :P
