Your reason for signing up to the B12 forums
« on: January 11, 2009, 08:58:07 pm »

Personally I signed up to here because I needed help on how to trade. I expect many people to take this option. ;D

*shit I made a grammar error in the poll :(

I also like helping people.

I believe it was my first really advanced fortress(First siege!), and I wanted to know any complications with a magma moat flowing into a magmafall.

 Then again...

 Edit: Also, what Hawkfrost said.

For me, a combination of that and what Hawkfrost said.
Also, to talk about my ventures in the game.

I had a race change operation from a human to a dwarf, so I thought it was in my duty too.

Also this is probably the most slack forum ever spawned.

Well Qmarx's dwarf used his pick to pierce the earth, and even though he wasn't using his drill to pierce the heavens, its still pretty appropriate.

I think the reason I signed up was just because that was the thing I did.  Learn to play a game, then sign up for the forums to meet people and discuss awesome things.  Part of the reason I think I stuck with DF was the awesomeness of the community, and not just because the game was amazing.

EDIT: Man, I just looked at all of you guy's registration dates.  You're starting to make me feel old, and that's not good.

modding.
THe wiki does not have any of the finer points of DF mechanics listed in any understandable fashion.

Also - to find a succession game to try my hand at.

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

Yes it is, anyhow if you don't want to feel too old look at mine.

I signed up for some question of such little significance I no longer remember it, I do know it was a lot quiter back then though.

Your poll is missing a crucial option: "Because I read an awesome community story." For many, it was Nist Akath. For me it was Migrursut.

But I've been lurking these forums since last January when I began playing Dwarf Fortress, so it's not like I only suddenly realized that I had stuff to talk about for this game.

Actually, I've got you beat by about a month.  But its about the same time so we can still reminisce about the good old days.

I joined because I rather enjoyed DF, remembered playing the original Armok at one point, and felt like discussing DF with other fans of the game.
