I think the random factor fits the HFS perfectly, in all mythologies, demons tend to have very random, often monstruous forms. Like, Pazuzu, a rather famous wind demon that brings disease and famine is sometimes described as a headless muscular giant with 4 wings and the legs of a chicken, some have goat heads and serpent tails, etc.
It'll also add a very nice surprise factor, i can't wait to meet winged naga lobsters with tentacles for eyes and 6 lungs, 2 for air, 2 for water breathing, 1 for magma and 1 for fun.

Not just demons but angels and many monsters have had forms completely original to themselves and often very monsterous (This includes angels who have had descriptions such as billions of eyes, flames, and swords). I love this since it is also the framework for gods and wizards to have minions as well as well as Spherical Lands.

You are confronted by a monstrous ravening thrip, noxious and bloated! Three twirling tentacles issue from its lumpy back as it gurgles and chirps!

That's scary.  I hate 1 mm thrips enough when they just eat my plants.  By the way, isn't the singular for thrips spelled the same as the plural "thrips"?  Not that it really matters much it if it has tentacles and stuff
