So how will the new sever system work? will sheared layers/pieces of flesh be treated as an item similar to severs in the current release?

melted fat splatter
Would that fat cool and harden into a usable substance, or would it be treated like a blood splatter and exist merely visually?

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...
It should be pretty fun though.

If you've got the default parameters, there should be stuff wherever you start sufficient to make your life interesting, even if there'll be too much stuff for you to have everything all in one place.

Eeeeeyeah! That sounds so promising.
Kinda hyperventilating here guys.

Also,

I really, really hope specific wounds will eventually be recorded in legends.

"Fenrir McTallguy was a giant.
In 303, Fenrir McTallguy razed the Lozenge of Governors.
In 314, Fenrir McTallguy stole a +alligator leather bracelet+ from Whimford the Bluish Deck of Warding.
In 319, Fenrir McTallguy fought the dragon Emor Ruathakenin.
In 319, Fenrir McTallguy had his subcutaneous fat melted out of his nethers by the dragon Emor Ruathakenin.
In 319, Fenrir McTallguy was slain by dragon Emor Ruathakenin."

Will it be possible to put some creatures into arena and then make it run lets say 100 times with the same setting?
And then come back after a few minutes and see the results who won how many times?
Or even the full combat reports?

Would be useful for testing balance of specific creatures / materials / weapons / armor types etc.

So that sounds amazingly epic. Just imagine red hot mauls being swung around.

... I should find some way to make a magma man civilization to siege in the next version. After all, you can never have too much fun.

It would be interesting to see the combat log from that since they are inorganic.

Pretty cool to see the combat stuff finished up.

As for the venom bieng marked off green, how come more links to organ function (which was the last bit in there) was dropped for this version? I think it may be because it's just complicated, given the complexity of real organ systems.

For the medical records, I'm just wondering how that will be displayed.

So, this talk of groundhogs has made me curious... can the new setup handle army ants?

From the devlog, sounds like it.

Although they would have to be giant ant the size of a mouse or something. Actually wait, aren't the bullet ants from the amazon an inch or two long, size 1 in the game would be something around that size I think.

It's complicated, but more importantly it's time-consuming and he's trying to get this release out by the end of the year.

Medical records?  Do you mean combat announcements?

I mean this in the Health Care section: Medical information and chief physician appointment

I kind of read that as medical records though.

Oh right.  That might be what it means, I'm not sure.  It hasn't even been started yet, so we'll likely see some explanations in the dev log next month.

Many groundhogs are like one carp.  And carp are no longer carp -- I set 10 vs 10 bull sharks and had a bloody mess.  I don't remember if they bruised any of the sharks or not.

toady do you think you might be able to add a number tag to LARGE_PREDATOR much like buildingdestroyer so that with a 3 on large predator they will become extremly visous like the fabled elephants in boatmurdered. (not sure which version they used)

I just realized, after adding the new body parts to the other races, that I have an entire squad of dwarves with a shield in each hand and swinging their axes with their penises. There's nightmare fuel for those goblins, in more ways than one.

This is something I'd like to see. At 1 they would be as current large predators are, aggressive to any creature that gets too close, and at 2 actively hunting down dwarfs and other races from across the map, like a miniature siege/ambush.
