The combat reports add so much to the game for me. I can't properly express how happy I am to see them officially in a release, and if we get fully functional reports that display everything except for training spam, my head may explode from pure joy.

Combat reports are too spammy for me, but I'm glad everyone else might end up getting them :D Hey, that's what init options are for!

Arbitrary material breath weapons? Cool.
Lets see that gives us icebreath, firebreath and a dozen different maiming poison breathes. No lightning yet but tis certainly enough to be going on with    :)

Ha! Such limited imagination! Consider Blood-breath, Gold Vapor-Breath, and expelling flaming guts out at the speed of sound-breath. Also, Beef-breath, bone dust breath, and water breath. So much potential.

You forgot "spinning vomit breath."   ;)

Candy dragons :D Do sugar-coated dwarves get used in kitchen jobs? With boiling sugar this would be a horrifying yet delicious way to die.

I'm curious to know what this entails. Hidden features as they stand now, underground rivers, lakes, magma pipes and pools, chasms and what not are pretty hard to get all on a single compact map as it stands now

Well,the biggest difference will be that features can overlap at different levels.

I think I'm weird, all I can think up is tentacle demons that breathe unknown substance... not particularly lethal I suppose.

You can't leave out molten gold kitten blood-breath, spraying down dwarves and turning them into valuable still-life statues.

I'm already devising clever methods of getting tame gold blooded creatures to stand in one place while they bleed. Probably a construction like,

Where @ is a dwarf, # is a wall, O is a door, and | is a spike trap connected to the lever the dwarf is pulling. A typical kitten killing device, really. One just has to hope globs of gold can form on a spike.

Right, now that I'm over the glee...

The possibilities with poison are horrific and endless.

Contact poison + Necrotoxins + poison blood + blood pools = throw goblins into a pool and watch the flesh melt from their bones.

The first thing I'm going to make is a gold-coated diamond-core dwarf that can breathe gold that is so hot it turns into a gas. When it dies, if it can, it will explode into poison-coated bolts that make normal creatures also explode in the same way, setting of a chain reaction. Wow, that'd be awesome. Toady really puts some effort into pleasing the crowd, unlike the maker of Cortex Command, for example. I mean, one update every second month..

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.
